If I see one that looks interesting, I buy it. If a pen won't start writing without scribbling first, skips or blobs, into the trash it goes. These Sharpie S-Gels are comfortable to hold and write smoothly. This is the second batch I've purchased. The colored inks are reserved for cards, letters and notes. I have given the black gels to friends and family members, too. We're all hooked. They are not as waterproof as a ballpoint, so if it gets wet the ink will flare a bit.
