You have to open the door to use the buttons. I've washed twice and so far everything works great my dishes are 99% dry. The interior sides are still wet though after drying. I have not used rinse aid to see if it further dries better. I'm only using cascade liquid alone. To be clear rinse is a separate liquid so do not put the cascade detergent in that compartment I know they say they have some built in the detergent but it is not the same stand alone rinse aid product. Eventually I will buy that but I did want to be familiar with how it dries so I can tell when I do get it if there was infact a difference or if it's a gimmick. My understanding is rinse aid is basically alcohol which does evaporate so I don't see why it wouldn't work just again want to be sure of how much water is left behind so see what difference it would make. It's a bit loud but idk if it's just my drains nothing that I won't get use to or that it bothers me. I haven't had a dishwasher in 7years so getting used to the sounds again. It does remember the last set cycle no problem. Express wash does take a little over 2hrs the booklet does tell you exactly how much time each setting will take and how much time to add if choosing extra settings like drying is an option or heavy duty pot spinner. Delivery to longer than expected two extra days then two days getting the extra parts and time for my husband to install it. It is magnetic I would like to put a dishwasher magnet on it but haven't actually purchased kinda expensive. My counter is free of dishes looks tidy. As of right now 2 weeks in I'm happy it works. Washes well drys well settings are easy to understand plus the breakdown of each setting in the booklet is helpful. No light in this model. Kinda wondering if I can find a small waterproof light to put inside or if that's a bad idea idk but a thought it's a little dark inside but once you pull the draws out there's no problem. The size fits all of my normal dishes but my mixing bowls I have to many and can not fit everything at once. I do not unload since most of everything fits inside.i just take out what I need pre wash and put it back and if I feel like I need to I'll just re wash everything again. It specifically tells you which slots are for knives and spoons how to load if your new to this which is useful in the manual. Hard not to like, given the value. It is well-priced, has good design, is quiet, and features a stainless tub. The only flaw is that the water supply hose was difficult to run to the front of the unit. My previous dishwasher, from another brand, had open space under the unit, which made connections easier. ... show more

    • Buyer Beware - Do Not Buy This Product
Buyer beware. This dishwasher has a major manufacturing defect. The top drawer designed to hold knifes, silverware etc. has a known defect. Per my multiple conversation with the manufacturer, they stated that is was a known defect and their solution was to physically reach inside the dishwasher and press down on the tray to free it past the upper water dispenser. Well, it does not take rocket science to think, that putting one's hand over a tray of sharp utensils and press down to free the tray is just plain dangerous. Come on, the tray is designed to place knifes and other sharp items in. It would be only a matter of time of not IF but when someone would cut themselves in a very bad way in a particularly vulnerable area such at the wrist. After speaking with several support people at SHARP all the way up to the supervisor, which i requested either a service technician be sent out or replace the unit. Their answer was it was a known issue and to deal with it basically. Thank goodness for Amazons return policy or I would be stuck with a basically non-functioning dishwasher. Great dishwasher! Very quiet.....looks very sleek. Love 3rd rack for larger cooking utensils. Well worth the money Update: I have now had this dishwasher for about 4 weeks and I do love it. Works better than most at getting dishes clean. Extremely quiet. I would definitely recommend buying.

    • What’s the top rack for?
The third rack is a waste. You can’t pull it out because it always hits the top sprayer and won’t open.
