The product has stopped working. Yesterday the app (which requires a ridiculous and unnecessary amount of personal information and constantly tries to link to other services and these settings mysteriously turn themselves back on) sent me a notification that my current membership expired in seven days. This somehow caused it to stop working, it literally began glitching and flashing as soon as I tried to close the notification and I had to restart my phone to get the app to stop flashing. Now the scale has constant issues and does not function properly despite repeated restarts, taking out the batteries etc. It will now either claim it can no longer connect via Bluetooth or has no internet connection despite it being the only device that has this problem. FAQs, seller information and company website specifically state that the scale is still functional without a membership, but this is a lie. Scale is now a useless piece of crap, and my membership has not even lapsed yet! But app and internet connection work to send me notifications about a membership subscription just not ANY of the functions of the scale. No response from company. Stay away unless you want to pay $10 for the rest of your life for the privilege of having your personal info sold off!

The scale worked fine for the first year, but I couldn’t justify the cost of another yearly subscription so the scale went in the closet for 2 years. I got it out to try again recently. I purchased a yearly subscription and then the scale quit working. I contacted the company to request a refund of the subscription since it was less than a month old but was informed they couldn’t refund it because it had been more than a month since I purchased it. The last time I checked the difference between May 20 and June 10 is less than a month. I am very disappointed with the product and the company. I would not recommend it to anyone. UPDATE: The company finally decided to send me a new scale rather than cancel my subscription. I think was very fair of them so I want to give them credit for that. For that reason I am changing the stars from 1 to 4.

I bought this a few years ago and, at first, it was great... until they implemented the subscription model. At the time (at least on the Amazon page), it didn't mention anything about the need for a subscription to use the color feedback feature. The description was updated later to include that, but by that time I had already bought it. I contacted customer support about they issue and their response was basically telling me that I'm out of luck and that I can use the item as a normal scale without the subscription. Because, you know, I totally wanted to drop that much money on a normal scale when I bought it for the color feedback (I'm in ED recovery). Using as a normal scale (that you need an app for anyway because it has no display on the scale itself) defeats the purpose. At this point I'm just not willing to give them more money just to make it functional because of their deceptive practices. So I'm stuck with a useless circle. Cool.
