  • Melts and pours nicely
I like that this brand sells 1 lb blocks since some other brands sell only larger blocks. This was easier to manage when cutting (used a large soap-cutter). It melted and poured as expected, and feels pretty nice on the skin. Tip: I like strong fragrances, but this soap holds fragrance well enough that it is unecessary (in my opinion) to put the maximum amount of oil that it can hold. I made this mistake with lavender oil on my first batch, and had to throw it out because it was SO strong that it was nauseating. Maybe if you are using a more subtle scent it would be fine, but I thought I might share my experience to prevent others from making the same mistake! ... show more

  • Awesome melt and pour soap base
Great great soap. Since it has the shea in the soap it feels nicer on the skin than other melt and pour bases. I added fine msm powder to it to help with psoriasis. I also added some (a small amount) beeswax so the soap would not disappear so quickly in the shower. It smells fantastic and took to the mold very well. I am super pleased. Half the block of melt and pour base made 12 of these. I added 3 TBSPNs of beeswax and 2 TBSPN of fine powdered MSM and a few drops of lavender oil. I love it. It makes a great soap for my face. I will purchase this again. ... show more

  • This is a good amount of soap
This is a good amount of soap. Easy to color. Apply essential oils. I used two methods with this soap bouble boiler, and microwave. It held up to both. While it only gives you four 4oz bars its worth the money. Yous skin is soft, and feels like its lightly moisturized. It can make many small bars for travel. I also used a 2oz mold to give as small trinkets. Sorry I dint mention this before shea butter has a wonderful sent without fragrance added. This soap is great for anyone wanting to make less footprint. I loved mine! My children still ask for my soap. ... show more

  • Great base!
I have been using this to make sugar scrub cubes, and it works really well. It melts quickly and evenly in the microwave, and combines nicely with the olive oil I'm using. I am not using dyes so I can't speak to that, but it takes the lavender essential oil scent I'm using very well. It sets up well. Great product! ... show more

  • I recommend it strongly - it is fun to do
I melted the soap in a double boiler, added about 9 drops of doTerra On Guard essential oil and poured it into a mold. My family all loves the soap. It is gentle, leaves our hands feeling grease free and clean without drying the skin. I recommend it strongly - it is fun to do, and beats anything available in the general market of soaps. I don't want a lot of chemicals, and I'm too lazy to make it from scratch. This is a good compromise solution. The only change I would make would be to decrease the essential oils to about 5 drops. ... show more

  • Awesome soap base!
I absolutely LOVE this soap base! It melts well and is easy to manage. I melt in a glass measuring cup in a pot of water on the stove, take off when all is melted. I allow to cool for about 5-10 minutes and add my essential oils for added benefit and smell. This base has decent lather on its own, but I do sometimes add a little liquid castille soap for additional lather. It is ready to go about 30 minutes after pouring in the mold! Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Lavender soap
I used this bar by cutting it into small pieces and melting it in a double boiler. Once melted I added lavender essence and dried lavender and poured into molds for making my own small soap bars. The small soaps came out great!
