  • These are the spades you were looking for
Dang... First, let me say that these are beastly. I mean, really. Each plug is about the size of my thumb. The forks of the spade are thicker than the tangs of my dinner forks. These might male a heavier duty connection than what's on my car's battery terminals. So I don't know if I would feel comfortable using these on anything beyond a stereo receiver at the receiver side. Once you've got a few pairs of these going on, I'd be concerned with making contact with the other plugs. Know your install, and know what you're trying to do. I wanted these for my speaker connections as Klipsch closed up the back end of the binding post, making banana plugs a bit awkward. These were easy to assemble, held fast when the cable was tugged, and has enough metal to ensure a solid connection. Pros: - Big and heavy - Easy to figure out and assemble - Holds tightly to the cable - Accepts large gauge wire and jackets - Really nice looking Cons: - Big and heavy - Metallic casing , so you need to be careful where you use these so you don't damage your amplifier. All in all, these are fantastic if you know what you're doing with these. If you're looking for spade plugs, these are well worth the money and are actually priced reasonably. I've only assembled the cables so far, but I'll try to update post-install. ------------------------------ - Yamaha RX-775WA receiver - 2x Klipsch RF82 II - 14AWG copper stage speaker cable, these at one end, Sewell Silverback bananas at the other. - 46" Samsung LCD, 9' seating distance :) - Sony Blu-Ray Player ... show more

  • Amazing!
What can I say? These were just amazing banana plugs. I had got a pair of banana plugs from them. A different kind. The ones that stick into the speaker terminal and they were just amazing the best set of banana plugs I've been owned but I want to try a different banana plugs and I did try a few brands and they were pretty decent. But I went to this company and bought three separate pairs of banana plugs. All three different kinds banana plugs gave me a really bad connection and the reason I got them for is cuz I need a stacked full of banana plugs and they were awful. So I got the idea to get some spade banana plugs so that way I can buy wire. I can put in the banana plugs into the terminal and put these spades around the terminal and I didn't want to waste. No more money or time. I'm worthless banana plugs. So I bought this brand of banana plugs because I remember how good that The ones that a banana plugs was from this company and they did not let down. These banana posts are just amazing. I highly recommend them over and over again. It's obvious it don't matter what kind you get from this company. You're definitely get good quality ... show more

  • Big chunky spades. Great if you have the space.
I've tried all sorts of non-solder terminals. Crimp on, screw on, spring loaded, side load stackable. This deadbolt style has been the best of all for me. Easy to use, solid connection, durable, both as bananas and spades. Mind the measurements...These spades and casing are extra thick and chunky. Likely too big for the back of most amps, even with the 45 degree angle. And the spades look awful close together on a lot of speakers. I ended up putting some shrink tube on one tine per pair, just to be extra careful against a short. I used a set to wire a passive subwoofer and pair of bookshelf monitors in a shotgun configuration. Another set to make a spade to banana jumpers. I've used it with 16, 14 and 12 awg with no problems. ... show more

  • Excellent option for thicker 9AWG wire and McIntosh binding posts
This is my third pair of spades as I replaced my amp and speakers. The McIntosh MA8950 has thick binding posts and my Supra XL forks and Monster spades weren't wide enough to fit around the posts. These are perfect, and also accepted my thicker 9AWG speaker cable. For cable this thick, follow their recommendation to take about 1/2" off an absolutely clean end, as you'll need that wire as taught as possible. Then feed it through the base, when you hit the smaller opening you'll want to eyeball it from above, then twist as you push forward. This retains as many strands as possible without splaying before it reaches the other side. I ended up re-doing the first two connections after picking up this trick, as it gives the most surface contact with the wire and spade connectors, and the most solid fastening to the cable itself. Well done by Sewell. ... show more

  • They do not fit onto my speakers.............
I used them made a pair of bi-wire speaker cables. They are good and fit to my a pair of low/mid end speakers. I wanted to try them on my two pair B&W speakers, 700's and 800's series. They do not fit onto the posts, the openings are too small. So I cannot use them on my B&W speakers. I am not certain if there is an industrial standard, but they do not fit B&W speakers, which are pretty common high-end speakers. I am somewhat disappointed..... ... show more
