The 3 inch size listed is the diameter of the outer face plate, not the diameter of the terminals that poke in the box. It takes a 2 or 2 1/2 inch hole drilled out to fit. They feel fairly cheap outside but when installed they look pretty good. It uses smaller style spade connectors on the back. The thumb screws are slightly hard to turn due to limited space but nothing unusuable. ... show more

    • They worked on a prefab box
I bought these to replace the ones that came in a prefab sealed dual 12'' box. The terminal cups it came with would only accept about 16 gauge and leaked air when I would press on the subs. I wanted to use 12 gauge or banana plugs and have it really sealed up. These were a quick swap and came with gaskets. These allow larger wire and/or banana plugs. They are cheap quality from China but what can you do these days. I didn't have another option unless spending 30 bucks on an SMD one. Either way, these were worth the purchase. ... show more
