I needed a sewing table that would fit into a small space, my bedroom. I needed it be at a height where I can sit on my bed and sew. When done, I needed to be able to fold the table and put it up. The table does have some weight, but was the perfect height and size for the space. I can sit on the edge of my bed. The table was not moving or rattling while sewing. The adjustable shelf could use some work. Not fond of having to unscrew the sides of it to adjust instead of just pulling a level or moving it out and up to readjust, but I really don't need it to adjust, I keep a flat surface most of the time. Its a great little table however, my machine did not sit flush with the table top even when in the lowest setting. This was my fault for not checking first. Still, its a good table and I'm using it in my craft room for other things

The sewing table is pretty good, but the adjustment mechanism needs some help. I added some M6x30 washers on both sides of the adjustment bracket and it made everything work SO MUCH better, so go ahead pick up a few of those when you buy this table.

Unfortunately, the adjustment positions didn't coincide with the height of my machine's work surface - so I had to do a simple modification: I replaced the two metal brackets under the adjustable shelf with same-length 2x2's. I then used 2" lag bolts with fender washers to position the shelf exactly where I needed it to be using the existing side metal positioning brackets. I have no need to "adjust" the shelf height - except when I eventually upgrade the machine - so I didn't mind losing the adjustment functionality. ... show more

Pros: nice and big work area. Shelf is easy to live up and down Cons: not the easiest to assemble and it took two of us to carry. When sewing the shelf vibrates a lot, so I have to slow down. It would also be nice to have a cutout for cords to go thru rather than having to go between shelf and table. ... show more

The assembly was not too difficult - senior here with bad hands. I used a power screwdriver with the appropriate screw head on it. But...the machine tray is not deep enough to allow my wife's (Brother) sewing machine to sit flush with the top surface of the table. I found some 1/2" thick aluminum bar stock (here on Amazon) that, after cutting and drilling, will lower the tray enough to make the surfaces flush. Two of the small screws used to mount hinges and support brackets had deformed heads and no spares were provided. Fortunately, I had something close enough to make it work. I doubt this sewing table would work well for heavy duty work but appears fine for casual home sewing. ... show more

    • Solid table at an affordable price

This is a really great 'no-frills' table. I'm using it with a Singer 4452, and the table lines up flush with the platform on the lowest notch. It was easy to set up and all the parts were included, everything went together as expected. The table is sturdy, and only gets a little wobble when running the machine at the highest speed (which for me is pretty much almost never anyway). The surface appears to be durable, though time will tell. The main downside is that to move the shelf up and down you need to use an allen wrench to loosen it first from underneath, then retighten. Not an issue for me, since I leave it set up for my machine, but if you wanted to frequently raise and lower it to use the full table-top for layout or whatever, then that may be a concern. ... show more

So much of the affordable sewing furniture available is so flimsy and unstable that it’s not worth purchasing. To me, a sewing table should be sturdy and strong enough that I’m not distracted from my sewing while I’m using it. But the more it wiggles, the more I zero in on the table’s shortcomings rather than my sewing project at hand. But this table by Sew Ready is a step above the rest of the tables in this price range! I’ve been using it for over a year now, and I can say mine is rock solid steady, just what I wanted! It doesn’t come with any real built in storage, but that’s ok. I bought a fabric pocketed caddy intended to sit under the machine with a flap where the pockets are hanging down. I use these pockets for my snippers and scissors, a fabric marking pen, pins, frequently used pressor feet, a few bobbins, etc.. there is also ample space for my sewing basket to keep other potentially needed items very close at hand.
