I was tired of a plastic laundry basket in the bedroom for dirty clothes and this looks much nicer. felt like a splurge to buy an aesthetically pleasing basket for dirty laundry but here we are. I also like that the canvas bag inside is easily removed and you can wash it as well.

I threw out the polyester liner which isn't an issue for me since I do my laundry in my home. If I had to carry it to a laundromat or something I would not buy since it doesn't have an actual good liner for transport.

I was looking for a laundry basket that was breathable wicker with a nice flat top that my cats could sit on and look out the window. (Yes, I realize ‘cat seat’ was not a feature in the product description.) I expected this to be more reinforced once assembled but there was no assembly. It’s more of a pop-up box. If the sides get slight misaligned, the lid will fall in. Even without any cats involved. So we don’t use the lid at all (flipped it to the back) and it’s still fine as a basket. The materials are nice. It’s a good size for 2 people’s worth of laundry for 5-6 days. As for the cats, they got their own little table by the window. ... show more

I tried TWO hampers before I finally found this one! The style is nice and just as pictured. (The other one I tried turned out to be two-toned). Anyway, everything is just what I wanted, except it smells! Not a foul smell but a very natural, grassy smell. I guess since I'm going to wash the clothes anyway it's ok, but I'm sensitive to scents and was a bit disappointed and surprised by this. I'd love some company guidance if there's a way to address this? I'm considering putting the whole thing out in the sun, maybe it got some moisture trapped in it (it is natural fiber after all). Hoping that works as I really don't want to have to return it. It's a little bit of a natural smell. Doesn't bother you then. This is a great hamper. ... show more

It comes in one piece. It just pulls open, and the base flips down. It has metal poles at the corners that keep its shape. It also comes with a linen-type laundry bag to hold your clothes that’s meant to be untied and lifted out on laundry day. Instead of going through all the untying and re-tying, I just pull my clothes out. I can attest that it’s a pretty sturdy basket too, because my 13lb cats walk on the lid every morning. I had planned on staining it a darker color to match my bedroom furniture, but when I saw how attractive it is, I left it the natural color. I have one warning - my last cat found this type of woven grass material very attractive to use as a scratching post, and shredded spots on my last one. This hamper was just fine for what I needed but buyers should know that this is not a woven together hamper. It is several flat pieces of woven material held together with plastic ties. You can’t really see them, and it seems sturdy enough. This is going in a closet and the price was right so I’m keeping it. But the sides and bottom are not woven together as it appears in the picture. The hamper arrives flat and you unfold it to 3 dimensional - if one of the plastic ties breaks a side piece can come off. ... show more

Love this. It is beautiful and half the price of comparable hampers. Was a little surprised to find there was no bottom to it, just a bag on the inside. Having said that, it doesn't really affect the function of the piece. Overall, very pleased!

Love these baskets. So easy to assemble and they look great. Be careful not to put any kind of wet/damp laundry in them as these baskets can develop mold. Other than that these are a must have.
