My husband doesn't need a heavy comforter, so this is a happy medium for us. I did need an extra blanket during the coldest NY winter nights (my husband didn't), but I think it's a good trade-off for having a comforter that is comfortable throughout the rest of the year and a good compromise for me and my husband. My husband is allergic to feathers, so real down was out of the question. This comforter gives us all the plush, cloud-like goodness without the sneezing and watery eyes—a total win! My new comforter arrived yesterday, and last night was the first really chilly fall night this year. I am extremely cold natured, and spend 6 months of the year sleeping in heavy pajamas and socks, with a light comforter, two to three quilts, and a doubled wool blanket on top of the lower half of the bed. This comforter arrived on time packaged nicely, and after running it through the dryer on "air" for 10 minutes, I put it on my bed with just a sheet. It's puffy, but very light, and I had serious doubts it would be warm enough. I even put a quilt within easy reach if it wasn't. WHAT A WONDERFUL SURPRISE!!! I was perfectly warm all night--no quilts required! It felt fabulous to not have all that weight pressing me into the mattress! This comforter is everything it says it is and more! I'm going to buy another one for my backup. It's beautifully made of quality fabric, and looks like it will be quite durable. I ordered the warmest choice of this blanket. I needed to replace my old down blanket that was shedding. The cover on this blanket is very soft and smooth. It has kept us warm. I ordered the full/queen and found this blanket very generous. It would probably work on a king.

Cheapest piece of garbage I've ever received from Amazon! For starters, my item was returned and no one ever checked it upon receiving. My item was SO SEVERELY DAMAGED, it's not even funny. Someone was upset with their item or just being evil and slashed this comforter to death. When I took it out of the bag, I received a polyfill shower all over my new apartment. I'm NOT HAPPY! I don't even know if this is actually extra warm, because of the severe lack of polyfill. From the outside looks it appears to be made very cheaply from what I'm used to. I've never owned a cheap polyfill comforter before, but I've spent too much money trying to set up my apartment. My sister told me she tossed out all my bedding at by house while I was hospitalized for 4 years. I can't believe she threw out an expensive down comforter, but I don't have another $500 to spend on one from The Company Store. I won't buy one with cheap feathers. Yuk! Whoever purposely damaged this comforter should be banned from all shopping sites. ... show more

The first pic is after it was fluffed in the dryer and by hand. The second is straight out of the package. I have read ALL the reviews for EVERY down alternative comforter there is. Well, maybe not EVERY one but it sure feels like it! I’ve done my research. I’ve bought and returned. I got the extra warmth. This one is the one you need. It’s soft, decently thick, quality materials and workmanship. Do I want it thicker? Yes! But I’m looking to sleep in a cloud. I’m “extra” with everything. This is as good as it gets. And the price! So affordable! So, in total I have purchased 4 of these in King, 110x96 but for Queen beds. 3 for kids/guest beds. And 1 for mine temporarily until I can find one big enough for my king, 130ish x 96-100ish). (I wish they made oversized but it seems like I will have to get something straight from China to get it big enough or custom made $$$!). So, when I do find one, I’ll take mine and put it in with another insert and if I love the thicker look, I’ll be buying 2 more. It really is a GREAT down alternative comforter. ... show more
