  • Exceeded Expectations
Color: Marine Blue
Purchased as an alternative to my hard SUP, primarily for easier transport to my destination and between parking and the water. I read a lot of reviews before buying which were overall positive, but also many contradictory, so I wasn't sure what to expect regarding inflating the board and stability. I have now inflated the board four times and used it twice on the water. The first time I inflated it at home to practice and test. No problems. The second time I took it to a lake, inflated it, but couldn't find the screw that holds the center fin. It was a bit windy and I'd read comments about the board being hard to control without the fin, so I opted to use another craft I'd brought along. I'm not sure when or how the screw came out of the fin. I emailed Pyle Customer Support directly and without issue they kindly sent me a replacement no charge. The screw in the new fin has a piece that prevents it from unscrewing all the way out. The original either didn't have this or it didn't work. I'll eventually get around to finding the correct size screw for a backup. The two times I've used the inflatable SUP have been excellent! It is so nice to be able to just put the bag in the car and go. Inflating is simple, taking me about 9 minutes with the hand pump. It's obviously significantly lighter than a hard board, and the handle makes it easy to carry to the water. I found the board to be surprisingly stable when standing, and easier on my back (than the hard board) when sitting. I do not have the optional seat back and I don't feel that I need it. Deflating is also simple, again taking me less than 10 minutes, including drying the board completely, rolling it up, putting it back in the bag and car. I love it. My pros are easy transport, time and effort saving, great experience on the water, great customer service, definitely worth the price. My only con is that it comes with a single-bladed paddle. I already had an adjustable double-bladed paddle, which is a must for me when sitting. I'm hopeful I'll get many more uses out of this inflatable board. Best practices for me: I use the dual-action setting on the manual pump to inflate the board until psi begins to register, which takes me 4-5 minutes, then I switch to single-action. 0-10 psi takes me 3-4 minutes, and 10-13 or 14 psi takes another minute. Use body weight, not arms. So far I've only inflated to 13-14 psi, which worked well for me. For deflation, I remove the plug and as it deflates I wipe to dry completely. Then I just roll remaining air out. Done. It comes with a strap to hold it together rolled, which I find helpful, but not necessary. ... show more

  • Fun solo or with the family
Color: Black and Light Gray
Loving the paddleboard so far. I'm about 6ft 210lbs and the board feels sturdy inflated to 14.5psi. The included D rings make it easy to attach a kayak seat and other accessories. The included double action pump worked fine but I got an electric inflator to speed up the process. The board feels stable both standing up solo and sitting with a child. ... show more

  • Great Paddle Board
Color: Marine Blue
Excellent board. Stable and glides well. The detachable fin is a nice feature. It packs up nicely and with an electric pump it is very quick to inflate.

  • Length or width, but isn't it also about customer service? (revised 07/20/2021)
Color: Aqua
The board is good. It is. I had used my girlfriend's Thunder Wave before and was pretty sure about the quality of the Serene Life board, but wanted a longer board. So I dove in and bought the Free Flow as it is longer by six inches. (joke, baked right in) Super fun. Not as steady as some (also just bought a Roc Scout which I have not taken for a drive yet, but is purported to be less wobbly), but a great, entry-level board. Comes with an ankle strap, pump (broken), repair kit, paddle. I replaced the paddle as the one that came with it was kind of wobbly. Two bigger problems: 1. Unfortunately, the pump arrived broken. 2. There is an insert card that arrives with the board that states that one is to register the board within seven days of receiving to extend the warranty and receive a free gift. Here is where the board loses not one, but two stars. I tried to register the board, but the page kept stopping at point #3. I called Serene Life customer service in order to get assistance with both issues. I have spent no less than three hours on the phone and in emails with Serene Life customer service to absolutely no avail. There is definitely a language barrier there, but even more, a procedure barrier. After each time a person took my call (which was harrowing, as the menu options are terrible), as the menu options are terrible), they would then tell me that someone would follow up by email. A few days later, an email arrived asking me for all of the same information that I had provided to the CS agent. Four days have now passed, I have not heard back. I tried to get them on facebook. Got a bot. No person has contacted me. It is now two days post that message. Totally frustrated, I contacted Amazon customer service who were slightly more helpful after I go them past the "Send the whole board back, and we will send you a whole, new 20-pound package." A ridiculous waste of resources. Customer service is an imperative part of consumer satisfaction as it pertains to any customer experience and Serene Life falls woefully short here. It is a fine, entry-level board that loses marks for the terrible customer service. EDIT 07/20/2021: Customer service really turned it around and I feel compelled to change this to a four-star review. Since my last post, customer service has indeed made good on their promise to extend the warranty as well as send me a free kayak seat (as per their insert promise re: registering the board). Additionally, the fin broke and they promptly sent me a new one. All of these things are very much appreciated. The reason it only gets a 4-star review at this point: 1. The fin screw feels unnecessary and begs breaking (which it did). While I understand the thought, the execution is not great and I anticipate the need for another one someday. 2. My girlfriend got me another board as a birthday gift (ROC Scout) and I really like it better. The stability is much better (at three inches wider) and the form factor makes it feel like I can get a little more speed and play from it. Good board and customer service stepped up. ... show more

  • For the price, an amazing SUP
Color: Black and Gray
I'm giving this 5 stars because the board is great--sturdy, light and easy to use and super inexpensive. I've been on the river 4 times in the last week enjoying the water and scenery! There are a couple of minor issues. The top of the paddle didn't fit tightly in its holder, so it can slide down. I ended up getting a different paddle, but it was a pretty decent paddle otherwise. There is probably a way to tighten the connection that I don't know about, so don't let that discourage you from getting it...and I could still use the paddle if I was careful. The pump worked, but it is QUITE the work out, especially getting it past 7 PSI. I was able, with effort, to get it to 10. The first time I used it I under inflated it (7 psi) and that was a mistake. Keep inflating and use those arm muscles! I have ordered an electric SUP pump. The only other issue I have had is one of the back pack straps on the bag broke, but I can still carry it with the other straps. If you are looking for an inexpensive SUP, or to try out paddle boarding, this is a great entry into the market. ... show more
