    • Perfect for 1999 Taco
Once I realized my Taco needed stand alone shocks, not struts for the front I ordered these. Do a little research to see if you need struts or shocks for the front of your truck. They were about half the cost of my local parts store. I had never installed these but watched a couple of videos on youtube and had both sides done in about an hour and a half. I'm not a mechanic so I'm sure it can be done faster by someone who is more experienced. To remove the old shocks, take off the top nut and remove the two lower bolts and it should come right out. When installing the new shocks you will need to compress it an inch or 2 to put the lower bolts in. I had a helper grab the shock through the springs to hold it in place when I pushed it up. Then I was able to get the lower bolts back in. It took some effort and was a success. I'm sure I saved at least $150 by doing this myself. This 20 year old work truck is riding great again.
