  • Works! Saves $$$ on cleaning product
Color: mint green
I purchased this for two reasons 1. To get brushes cleaner and dryer, faster. 2. To save on brush cleaning product. (Some reviews complain that this didn't clean their non-water soluble make-up brushes when using water. Sigh. Of course not, if makeup was waterproof, it's not going to get clean using just water. The problem isn't the spinner, it's user error.... When cleaning manually, my brushes soak up the cleaner (Garnier Micellar Water- (MW) pink top) and I wasted a lot, and got only moderately clean brushes, and they needed at least a day to dry. What I did today, using the same MW product, got 2 dozen brushes nearly new condition, very dry. I'll never be without this spinner. After putting the brush holder on a brush, pulling off, putting on again for step two, I set up an assembly line. 1. Small bowl with Micellar water (MW) 2. Brush Cleaning bowl 3. MW in the bowl that comes with kit 4. Wide mouth Mason jar with dawn and water 5. Wide mouth Mason jar with regular water As the first bowl of MW got dirty, I'd use some of the MW from the spinning bowl to replace it, and topped of the spinning bowl with fresh MW. This saved product, and got max use out of the MW. You will also need AAA batteries, and probably gorilla glue or super glue, as in my experience a few brushes pulled off from the handles since they weren't glued well to start with. It has nothing to do with the spinner. By starting with MW, it really didn't matter if the makeup was water soluble or not. Everything came out clean. I cleaned my wedges with with the MC that was in the bowl when I was finished cleaning the brushes, then used the dawn and the regular water jars, so all my applicators are clean now! Absolutely nothing wasted. This spinner will pay for itself in two uses just from the savings on MW. If you use pricier brush cleaner, it will save you even more $$ faster. ... show more

  • I might have messed mine up???
Color: pink
This is my first time using a product like this. I have NEVER washed my brushes. That’s a lie…I washed a couple of them about 5 years ago with just soap and water, and they stayed damp forever, and I then I couldn’t use them for days. But I’ve been seeing these kits on Buzzfeed for years now, and since i’m approaching 40, I'm trying to take better care of myself. I didn’t look at the instructions before my first attempt. It comes with these 2 little white pegs. I put it on incorrectly the first time, and I had to use a kitchen tool to remove it, with quite a bit of force. Then I see the instructions and it says that once it’s in there, don’t remove it. So I have no idea why they sent 2 of it’s not meant to be replaced. Anyway, I got the hang of it, but I don’t know if I messed something up with the yanking or if it’s just the weight of the brushes. When I turn it on, I have to start the spinning off with my hand. Again, that might be my fault. It is very cool to watch though. I like how quickly they dry with the spinning. If they made stuff like this when I was in my youth, then yes, I would’ve washed my brushes regularly. Like I seriously have one powder brush that I’ve had for over 10 years and this was the first time it was cleaned. Be careful with the big brushes though, and how you store them after cleaning. The wand on that one broke off years ago, but it’s so big that I didn’t need it. I have a mug that I set all of my brushes in, and bc I don’t have the stem on that brush it went into the mug, and got beaten up by other brush stems. When I finally went to use that one again, the fibers were going every which way. I don’t know if I ruined the brush. I’ll try to wash it again and hopefully the shape comes back…but if it doesn’t, we’ll, I’ve been needed to retire that thing for years now!! ... show more

  • Awesome cleaner! Here are some tips you may need!
Color: pink
I really love this cleaner, as soon as I got it I opened it and went to town on my brushes! I'm extremely happy with the results once I got used to it and realized a few things, so I figured I'd give some tips that may help someone else! 1. Only use this for synthetic brushes - non-synthetic for whatever reason really hates being spun around at extreme speed. Synthetic brushes come out of the spin looking like a glamor girl, while real hair brushes come out of the spin looking a bit like someone who was completely drunk and was dared to spin in the dryer. 2. Using an angled brush - you can totally do this, but be aware that angled brushes cause the bubbles to start a mosh pit and somehow multiply exponentially while doing so! Just make sure that you are not somewhere you don't mind getting a bunch of water on :D 3. If your brush keeps falling out of the sleeve and you KNOW you have the right size, make sure that when you are pulling it out of the water the screw on lid isn't smaller than the circumference of the brush. If it is, it will yank on the brush and pull it out of the sleeve. It really cleans brushes easily, and if you have fibromyalgia (like me!) it makes cleaning your brushes easier so it doesn't take you literal days to complete. The -only- thing that I would say in a way of 'cons' is that I wish that it had different speed settings - like when doing angled brushes for example :D ... show more

  • Don’t purchase, faulty device
Color: pink
The rubber tips that you switch out are such random sizes. None of them fit my makeup brushes so I have to seriously JAM the end of my brush so that it works. Then the device is so touchy that it will just stop spinning randomly or not even start. I’ve switched out the batteries thinking that’s the problem but it barely spins. ... show more
