  • This is a Great Helmet if You Want Sound!
Size: XX-Large Style: Outrush R Color: Matte Black
I bought an XL Sena helmet with the Harmon Kardin system, but XL turned out to be too small. Sound was great, but fit was not. I attempted to buy a 2XL helmet with this same system, but I could not find one. They were available during the holidays, but now they were not. I contacted Sena and they responded telling me that they no longer made the 2XL helmets in this style. Bummer. So, then I got the first gen Outrush helmet in 2XL. It fit alright, but the right speaker didn't work as well as the left. I returned it. I guess I failed to return the helmet bag, the extra microphone foamies and instructions, so I got dinged $174 from my original purchase price. I didn't notice until I just found the extra stuff in my motorcycle trunk and was going to send it to them. That's when I saw the penalty on my refund. I'm going to talk to them about getting a little of that back when I return the overlooked return items, but enough about that right now. Let's get to the heart of why I took the time to write this review... OMG! Second gen Outrush helmet is comfortable. Helmet is easy to put on. Chin strap is easy to adjust and put on and take off. Modular part works great. Did I say the helmet is comfortable? Oh, yeah... but the frickin' sound. I'm kind of an audiophile. Not obsessed, but I enjoy my music. I have a 40 minute ride to work every day and that ride has become something to look forward too. What am I gonna listen to today? Zeppelin? Rage? Peppers? Nirvana? Aerosmith? Sublime? Maybe some Elvis Costello? How about some Santana and a little old Chicago? As you can tell, my tastes are eclectic and wide-ranging. How about a little of all of it?!!! I'm listening to music I've heard for decades and I am now hearing the lyrics for the first time. There's not a bathroom on the right... there's a "bad moon on the rise"! (-: Anyway, as I wind through the banked mountain corners eventually giving way to the flat valley straightaways, it all blurs into one symphony that makes almost an hour feel like a blink. I pull into work charged up and motivated. I'm often the first one there, so I'll wear my helmet all the way to my desk while listening to some crazy Zappa or old "Green-Eyed Lady". Man, I'm telling you. I even wear while blasting excellent tunes it for a quick trip in to the grocery store to pick up milk or bread that my wife has requested. It's surreal. The review people have asked me about weight and, safety and durability, so in response I'll say the weight is not too much. It's nice. As far as the safety and durability go. I'd rather not find out how safe it is in reality, but it seems pretty solid. As to durability, time will tell. I didn't even mention the truly functioning air vents or the built-in tinted sun screen that you can pull down inside the helmet. I'm not a paid endorser. I'm just a guy who returned two helmets looking for the right one and I found it on the third try. Oh, one more thing... I'm listening to Joe Cocker "Came In Through The Bathroom Window", when all of the sudden the volume goes to zero and the helmet speaker tells me that my wife is calling. I say to the built-in microphone to answer the call. I talk to my wife with the clear visor fully open and she thinks I'm in my company car or at my desk. I tell her I'm only minutes from home on the bike and she can't believe it! All I can say, is I don't usually take the time to write a review like this, but this helmet is the bomb. Lastly, I can't say that your experience with this helmet will be as good as mine, but if you're like me, you're going to love it. Remember, I did return one because the audio wasn't quite right only to get this one that was 1000 times better, so if it doesn't sound right, ask a couple other people to check it out and switch the smart phone you're using to send the signal, just to make sure the problem isn't on your end. Great frickin' helmet!!! Can't wait to go to work Monday morning to listen to my latest play list! ... show more

  • Awesome Product
Size: Large Style: Outrush R Color: Matte Black
Great helmet so far, but it is $70 cheaper from the manufacturer. Wish I would’ve known that. It’s still worth the price. Great helmet. Comfortable. Pairing was simple with phone and other riders. The fit is perfect if you measure correctly. It is super light. I was not sure what was in the box until I opened it. ... show more

  • Great Helmet for the Price — Just Be Careful With ...
Size: Large Style: Outrush Color: Gloss White
I ordered the Sena OUTRUSH motorcycle helmet in size L. The quality is solid, the packaging was great, and Amazon delivered it quickly. However, the helmet definitely runs small — the L size compressed my whole head and felt especially tight around the cheeks. If you have a narrow face, it might work, but it didn’t fit me comfortably. I ended up ordering the XXL instead, since I wear prescription Ray‑Ban Meta glasses with thicker temples and also use a helmet liner. The XXL gives me a snug, comfortable fit and works perfectly with my setup. Overall, I do recommend this helmet, but make sure to pay close attention to sizing. I’ve heard the OUTRUSH‑R version fits more true to size. So I ended up returning this L size and going to keep my XXL. ... show more

  • Good helmet, good price
Size: XX-Large Style: Outrush Color: Gloss White
I bought this helmet for all the wrong reasons. I wanted a full face helmet, I waited until the last minute, it was available and I could get it overnight, etc. I've had it for a couple of years now and it's been a great all around helmet. It's comfortable and fits my head well (I tried an XL and had to return it in favor of this one), it's not too heavy, and it has a lot of features. The helmet has vents that can be open or shut, but I really can't tell the difference. I get a lot of air rushing in under the chin (I rarely use the removable chin deflector unless it's REALLY cold) so the vents don't matter much to me. I really appreciate the tinted flip down visor that is separate from the clear visor. I can ride around with the clear visor open and, if it's not dark out, still have eye protection as well as a breeze on my face. Really nice touch. The Bluetooth works well, though every once in a while it refuses to talk to my phone. I have to shut the helmet off and back on to get it to work. Once it does, it works flawlessly. I wear earplugs to drown out the engine noise and I can still hear the speakers at highway speeds. The batteries have lasted for more than 8 hours at a stretch so I can't complain about that. The flip down visor tends to fog up if I'm not moving, but any helmet that isn't a pin-lock will do that. I usually treat it with anti-fog spray, which helps. I haven't had to test the DOT rating, thank goodness, and I hope I never do. The only minor quibbles I have are that the recharging port is micro-USB instead of USB-C, and that the chin strap loosens up over time and is a minor nuisance to adjust. But I'm really just nitpicking. I really like this helmet and when it's time to replace it, I'll probably get the pin-lock version. ... show more

  • Nice helmet, but used unfortunately bad customer service on the end of sena
The good value for the money. It’s the older generation not mesh that’s fine, as long as I can speak to my wife and other driver I’m ok with it nor being a large grouping like the new mesh system, phone calls are clear and music is loud enough to hear sound quality is ok not great. The reason why I’m giving it one star is because I received a used helmet in perfect condition ,but used, I couldn’t even tell at first until I ordered a second one for my wife both the same size. My helmet is slightly bigger because it’s broken in slightly,I also did not receive the charger wire the two Spare foam mic covers, the instructions or warranty card. My wife’s came with all the above, much tighter. I had to manually reset my helmet aka removes all previous devises to get it to connect. My wife’s connected first try. Why won’t I return it well after several tries at a helmet I like, like this one I’ve already used it for 2 Weeks before I even figured out it was used so it really broken in and shaped to my liking. I just wish I was informed that it was a return or slightly used in the product should’ve been offered at a discounted rate I contacted Sena and he told me there’s nothing they can do since I purchased it through Amazon even though it was through their official store so I informed Mr. Andrew one of their customer service I repeat customer service that’s right am a customer take care of your customers make them lifetime customers. Well that’s a good companies too. He informed me nothing he can do. He can’t send me microphone phone warranty card charging cable none of the above just return the helmet after I’ve been wearing it for three weeks and it’s broken into my head. we all know when we first get a helmet it’s uncomfortable and breaking. Just like a pair of shoes now it’s fitted in form to my head. I do not wish to return it. I would just like what you’re supposed to get with a new products which I paid for or give me a refund for the whole thing. Either way I informed Mr. Andrew with Sena that our side-by-side group is looking for an 8 to 10 unit system. It’s going to have to be mesh and will probably be looking at their competitor Cardo after such a bad customer service I mean honestly the helmet is nice for communication. Audio quality is complete. Crap sounds terrible. I think they said that this is a Harmon k or JBL same thing either way they really dropped the ball on the quality of audio for music with that being said at least I get to talk to the other driver his passenger in my wife that’s all I need out of this home. I wish I was informed I was purchasing a used . if I do return it, I will return this and my wife’s helmet and go with Cardo. ... show more

  • perfect in every way
Size: Large Style: Outrush R Color: Matte Black
love this helmet. I am a new rider and was so confused by all the options for Helmets. This one was reasonably priced and fit perfectly. My bike is REALLY loud so the speakers are kinda faint but that is no reflection on the helmet. I love the integrated sun visor. Everything about this helmet is as advertised the sizing chart worked perfectly. I used it right out of the box and took it on a 3 day, 10 hours per day, trip from Minnesota to DC and it was comfortable each day. No issues whatsoever. Pairs quickly and effortlessly. Not sure how they could even try to improve on this. ... show more

Fantastic purchase. I tried a few different helmets before buying this one and it’s well worth it. It’s comfortable, the speakers are good and loud and it looks good too. It’s not overly heavy and there is a little bit of wind noise but overall I’m incredibly happy with it, although I do wish it came with the tinted visor instead of having to purchase separately. ... show more

  • Not exactly what I was hoping for
Size: XX-Large Style: Outrush Color: Gloss White
The sizing on this helmet runs small. I measure for a Large, usually buy an Extra Large, but had to go for a 2X Large. That being said, it was a little snug on the sides, but had a good fit overall. It is a helmet I had high hopes for. It's a good helmet, but has some issues Sena needs to work through, which caused me to send it back. 1. I could not get it to pair with my smartphone and an MP3 player at the same time. If my smart phone was paired, it would cancel out the MP3 player's pairing. 2. The sound seemed okay when I was listening to it at home. However, when I went to go on a ride, the left speaker was kind of raspy. After a few minutes the music started to cut in and out, becoming statically annoying. I didn't know if it was the helmet or the new MP3 player I was using. I hooked up the MP3 player to some ear buds and it worked just fine. So it was either the helmet or the bluetooth connection. 3. The straw that broke the camels back, so to speak. I ride a touring bike with fairings and a full windshield, so I don't get a lot of wind hitting my head. Up to about 40 to 50 miles an hour, the helmet was a little noisier than I was expecting. (In all fairness, it's a motorcycle helmet and some noise is to be expected with any helmet.) However, once I got up to between 60 and 75 miles an hour the wind and road noise was intolerable. It was so bad I could hardly hear the music playing through the earbuds I was using. Much noisier than other helmets I have used, full face or modular. Removing the earbuds and replacing them with earplugs wouldn't even shut out the noise sufficiently. This helmet would propably be adequate for riding around town, but on the open road at highway speeds, it is sadly lacking. ... show more
