  • New To SENA
Size: Single Pack Style: 20S EVO (HD Speakers)
Probably has more features than I’ll ever use or need. You’ll need to download and print the User’s Guide (59 pages). Guessing if they included it, you’d need a magnifying glass to read it anyway. Covers a ton of topics. Between that and the videos on how to use/configure/install the unit on your helmet, you should have everything you’ll need. Do yourself a favor and review ALL of the info available before setting it up. Some videos are great and some are just painful to watch / listen to. All are useful, either way. ... show more

  • Perfect for Shoei RF1200
Size: Dual Pack Style: 20S EVO
I popped these units into two Shoei RF1200s. One is mine and one is my wife's. We've had the helmets for about three years, and both helmets previously had Cardo Q9s in them. The install was super easy. - Six snaps to get the pads out. - Two hex screws to get the Q9 off. - Switch to the non boom mic on Sena unit. - Two hex screws (same hex wrench as Q9) to get Sena attached. - Used the same Velcro from Q9 install. - Used credit card to push wires in helmet creases. - Six snaps to get everything back. - Done Took about 25 minutes for the first helmet, and about 10 for the second. After it was all back together, I put my helmet on to check the results, and I was impressed. These speakers are a little thicker than those of the Q9 so they are a little closer to my ears. Yet still quite comfy. This slight change made the music much louder and gave a bass boost. I actually had to go into my EQ settings on my iPhone and thin out the sound for more clarity. The proximity of the speakers also gave a HUGE volume boost. First day on my way home from work I only had it about half volume while mashing 95mph where I could in Silicon Valley traffic. That's quite impressive considering how loud an RF1200 can be with all vents open and the visor cracked (It was 105F). This thing has way more features than I'll ever need. I just want the volume, intercom/music button while riding. But for many of you, the call, radio, voice command, etc. features will come in handy. It does look a little hoopty on the side of the helmet. It covers the Shoei logo and is taller than the Q9. I think Sena was going for a futuristic and aerodynamic look. While that looks great on some helmets, I think it fails on the RF1200. But the sound quality makes up for it in spades. The battery life has been fine so far. I'm a nut about charging all my stuff, but my wife isn't. I'll update this review if I get any complaints from her. The reason we switched from the Q9s is that we were experiencing a LOT of faults after only a few years with them. For instance, if a call came to my phone while listening to music, the Bluetooth would disconnect. I get a lot of calls (work) that I don't answer while on my bike (Z900RS), so you can see why this is annoying. My wife would constantly have the unit switch to intercom mode without touching it. Cardo hasn't supported these units since 2015 and I wasn't able to get any help from them. I tried resetting them back to factory. This didn't help my wife's unit, and mine wouldn't communicate with my laptop after reset, so I had even older firmware with the same problems. This isn't just Cardo bashing. I'm sure their new units are much better. And while the Q9s worked, they were great. In summary, if you have an RF1200 and it's the right size for your dome - this unit will be fantastic. It is: - Easy to install. - Comfortable. - Loud. - Easy to control while riding. - Styling could be better (I'll see if I can post pics). - Good battery life. - I am very impressed. Maybe check the other reviews if you want to know about the many features on this unit. ... show more

  • Could it be better? Read for your self this review is after 7,500 miles of use
Size: Single Pack Style: 20S EVO
The best of the worst? It could be a great tool to communicate between riders BUT - the claims of distance are false. My guess is when SENA did the tests it was on a perfect day, no traffic, no turns, no other possible interference of any possible kind at all. Once you go through a turn with more than 8 bikes you will lose the last bike every time unless you have LINE OF SITE. if the last bike is more 10 bikes away you will get garble instead of being able to understand communication. Now when I say 10 bikes I mean with accounting for a safe travel distance between them as well. We ride staggered formation to stay tight when possible here in NY, but still get garble. I'd say to SENA is there a way to Extend (Like Wi-Fi) signal from device to device - so if there is a SENA in middle it actually serves to amp and extend signal strength - that would be a game winner!! The pairing takes some time to figure out and can be touchy and sensitive sometimes, but it does work after a few tries. That's probably more user issue than SENA (we have to get better at it) Battery life is actually quite good even under heavy usage - I have gotten just under 10 hours before it says in the softest way - Low Battery and turns off. It pairs with phone perfectly each and every time. Customer Support is TERRIBLE!!! Don't even bother. I ride a HD and spoke at length with my dealer, SENA makes the HD branded headset so they said they know exactly what I was talking about. I had no idea about that, makes sense though they are the exact same design and shape. When the units are paired and the Line of Site is proper the sound is amazing ad clarity fantastic you'd think the person was right next to you chatting. But keep in mind the Distance is the issue it falls short (no pun intended) My biggest gripe is the mic picks up road noise from the other bikes, their stereo's etc - have not figured out a work around to solve that yet, in a group ride it even picks up other bikes exhaust. As the Road Captain I am typically in front so I get to hear it all from behind - that is an annoyance and why I tried customer support to NO avail of any usable information sadly. ... show more

  • Perfect replacement unit for your Sena
Size: Single Pack Style: Clamp Kit for 20S, 20S EVO, 30K
Now this is exactly what a replacement base unit should be. My. Wires were worn and I had a hard time understanding what someone would say, so I decided to go with this Unit. Not only do I hear clearly now what someone is saying but the quality of the sound is so much more improved over the old one. And it fits perfectly and you have choice how you would like to configure your helmet, boom mike loose or attached to inside or a simple button microphone if you have a enclosed helmet. Enjoy the music and be safe on the streets. ... show more

  • great product so far!
Size: Single Pack Style: 20S EVO (HD Speakers)
The unit is a little tricky to install in a full face (modular) helmet but well worth the effort! I had to use the speaker pads inside the ear well to get the speaker closer to my ears but the sound is very good. Riding with other riders the voices are very crisp and clear. I paired it my phone and the SXM app for music on my last trip and the sound quality is good. The bass is a little lacking but all in all I was really impressed with this SENA unit. ... show more
