  • Tenor sax
Style: Saxophone
I am a member of a Community Band that raises money for our local small town middle school band program. The school did not have any decent tenor saxes and the band director wanted to start a jazz band. Our community band bought this sax to give to the school. I am a sax/clarinet musician, I ordered this horn and tested it upon it's arrival. I found it to be very good, should work well as a student horn. The only thing I noticed was the octave key is slightly too high and makes your thumb feel like it is touching something sharp. A quick fix by a repairman should make it more responsive. As a dedicated musician my very long life, I would recommend it highly, this horn is better than an intermediate or advanced horn made 30 or more years ago. ... show more

  • Great sounding horn
Style: Saxophone
This Saxophone is great. I appreciate the quality. It sounds great. I am using it as a second horn . It sounds as good as my Super Action 80 Saxophone.

  • Not a good choice
Style: Saxophone
Keys and rods are bent, several keys the pads are glued down to the instrument. Totally unplayable. Went to my repair shop, going to be close to $500 to fix it.

  • Quality
Style: Saxophone
Ive owned this saxophone for 2 years now. It's a student saxophone, but it's all youd expect from a selmer. THe sound is what you want it to be. You can feel the metal vibrating on you. The key fingerpads are in a comfortable position. I mean, it's a selmer and you cant go wrong with it. Theres only a few unpleasant aspects and that's that the saxophone is heavy as hell. It will drag your neck down with the bad stock neckstrap thats included. Changed it to one of them Rico, padded neckstraps and it got better, but its still killing me. The case is bigger than it should be, and heavy as well. and it's not of a very high quality, because the zippers and metal links break off easily. . Lastly its the color; it's a matter of preference, but that yellow brass just aint cutting it with me. Overall its a quality saxophone, and the cons that it has dont really matter. Great for starting and intermediate students. ... show more
