  • decent spot welder that is relatively powerful.
I've had the spot welder for about 2 days and so far it's been working very well and is far more powerful than I expected punching through four layers of 0.15 nickel and into a plastic divider on level 25.0 it also has decent build quality for the main unit. That being said there are a couple semi sketchy things. Even though the housing is fully metal inside the capacitors are supported with a block of closed cell foam to hold them in place. Also, the power supply is extremely cheap and I heard something rattling around inside of it. Also the electrodes that I received were fully crimped, but featured mild discoloration on the insulation. I am confused about the power output. The capacitor tops out at about 5 volts and the manual states that it has 1400 amps peak, however in another spot on the manual as well as on the Amazon listing at lists 2100 amps so it either has a rated power output of 10.5 KW or 7KW. Regardless of this it was plenty powerful enough for my needs I purchased this capacitor spot welder for $109.99 on 8/30/2025 ... show more

  • Works a lot better than the hand held portables
I purchased this battery welder as a replacement for a small portable unit that I had for about four years. The previous model (Kerpu brand) never really worked as well as I hoped for. The Kerpu encountered issues a few years ago and I had to replace the cables. The Kerpu finally died (battery failure to recharge) a few months ago. I was able to make battery packs but some connections were less than desirable and I was welding 6-8 times to keep the nickel strips in place, at full power. I was in the market for a replacement unit and decided to spend a little more money and do some research before buying another welder. All of the compact portable rechargeable welders have limitations due to the battery life and output power to weld. I was not looking to spend over $400 for a welder because I make battery packs for portable speakers and not into mass production. I've actually had to go back and replace battery packs due to the nickel strip connection becoming loose over time and the battery failing to charge. I narrowed the choice to a welder with capacitor technology to get sufficient power to make welds that would penetrate and ensure the nickel strips adhere properly. My two choices came down to two Seesii models. There were reviews on the cheaper model on Youtube but not for the 25 gear model. I opted to buy the 25 gear model as well as a three year warranty. The welder came within 2-3 days and I was able to set it up within 2-3 minutes. The difference between this welder and my old portable was night and day. I have the power gear setting at 3.5 and it welds nickel strips perfectly. I'm using 1mm pure nickel and this welder has no problem getting the job done. It takes a few seconds for the voltage to catch back up when I'm humming along. I probably would have been happy with the less expensive model, but I'm completely satisfied with this purchase. ... show more

  • Works fine but not for production applications
I have made several hundred welds so far. These are my observations: 1. Build quality is good with an all metal case, easy to read display, and heavy gauge probe cables. 2. It is easy to use. Only two adjustments, welding pulse duration and time from contact to pulse. 3. With a little practice I was able to make consistent strong welds with 1mm and 1.5mm Nickel strips. 2 mm strips are a work in progress. I haven't tried 3mm strips but I am doubtful of consistent results. 4. The big problem is that the voltage on the capacitor drops as you make welds. The power supply can't keep up. The cap voltage is shown in the upper left corner of the display. As the voltage drops the welds become noticeably weaker. After doing 15-20 welds I had to stop and wait about a minute for the capacitor voltage to catch up or increase the weld pulse width to compensate. It is my opinion that this unit is great for casual use but inadequate for volume use. 5. The probes get very hot after a few dozen uses. Keep the rubber probe sleeves on. 6. The 12 volt 3 amp power supply also gets VERY hot after extended use. All in all I like the unit and have made many good quality welds. However, it is only suitable for casual or low volume work. I think for that application it is over priced. There are many other lower cost welders for casual work. ... show more

  • Spot welding nickel ribbon to Li-ion batteries
This Seesi spot welder worked flawlessly to spot weld 0.15 mm x 8mm nickel ribbon to flat-top Lithium-ion cylindrical battery cells. I especially liked the "auto-weld" mode which doesn't require a foot-pedal or other manual switch to trigger the welder. I simply adjusted the time-delay for the auto-weld mode to about 2 seconds, held the two weld electrodes in the proper position against the nickel ribbon, and the welder does the rest. Really a simple welder to use- I made about 800 welds on my 52-cell battery pack in about 45 minutes. It does take some practice to get the nickel ribbon cut and placed on the battery cells correctly and safely. I used a short piece of masking tape to hold the nickel ribbon in place while I applied the two electrodes. This welder is a great tool and well-worth the money. ... show more

  • Great when it works but fragile.
Mine was dead on arrival so I was refunded for it. I had a typical MOT spotwelder that started blowing through cells. I experienced using this from a friend and while it worked great, that's why I purchased one. Unfortunately, his recently had the mosfets blow on him causing the electrodes to remain hot all the time. I ended up repairing it by replacing the mosfets. They can break at any time. I'd be weary of purchasing this unless you know how to solder high power mosfets using a hot air station. ... show more
