I bought them for the different sizes. The little ones are very little. Held about an ounce of banana chips. Which is great, we only need or want an ounce at a time. The medium bags held about two ounces of dried bell pepper strips. That is 3 or 4 peppers, if you are interested. The media could not be loaded. I have many good issues and am not able to eat most store bought pre-made backpacking meals. I decided to make my own, but was scared to be up in the mountains and have some kind of mishap with these bags. I was able to add boiling water to all of my meals without any leaks or issues. I would give 5 stars, but for my needs the 1 gallon bags were way too big, the medium size seemed just a bit to small and the smallest size was too big (for peanut butter which is what I wanted it for). But I'm sure these sizes would work great for other food preservation needs. ... show more

I bought these thinking that they were a great value, and they are, I guess. But I was expecting 10 mil thick sides to the bag, not 5 mil thick. I don't have an instrument to measure, but I can tell that they are not as thick as other brands that claim only 9 mil thickness. My guess is that they are measuring total bag (closed) thickness. I have had several failures while trying to seal foods for storage. ... show more

Love that they stand on their own for filling. Very professional looking if you use for your business. Tear tab should be wider though so can heat seal as well as O2 absorb. I don't know of durability yet because I just filled mine a month ago....we shall see. I think they should be stored (after filling) in a bucket or some kind of container to keep from accidental nicks. Even though they are thick, it wouldn't take much to puncture. Keep away from kitty claws. Ziplock closure is a great feature. ... show more
