What a well thought out system. It works perfectly and includes everything I need to make sprouting easy. I love things that are all inclusive, so I don't have to order a lot of different things. It really streamlines getting everything needed together, it makes it effortless. First, I want to talk about the stand because it alone makes this system the best there is. It seems so simple, yet it is canted at the precise angle needed for success. It is a foolproof way to keep the jars exactly where they need to be. When I imagine trying to figure out that angle and keep the jars there with something from around the house, it may be possible but would not keep the jars in the right place nearly so well. I can imagine a constant struggle without the stand. The stand makes positioning the jars steady, strong and secure. There are even more bonuses to this complete system. The stainless-steel lids and mesh are rust proof and fit the jars nicely. The holes in the mesh make draining easy and allow the proper amount of air to circulate to keep the sprouts from harm. Another very awesome benefit are the black covers. They fit so snugly and block the light so very well. I'm confident they won't slip off; they stay in place and do their job. It really beats trying to lay a cloth over or something because this is on my kitchen counter getting jostled by other things, so laying something over the jars to block the light would be a hassle to keep in place. The footprint of this system is the smallest it could possibly be. I cook a lot and have lots of other tools on my counters, so it is important to me that it doesn't take up much space. The fact that there are two jars allows me to either stagger growing in each jar or using both and sharing the excess sprouts with friends or family. .

I love this system! I sprout beans in one jar and veggies in the other. After they're ready, I store them in the refrigerator, put the equipment in the dishwasher, and start again when we're ready for more. I find this system so easy to use and keep clean. I don't care if the tray stains a little. It may depend on how many minerals are in your water. I highly recommend this! And we're enjoying having the fresh sprouts!

I have been using this kit for about a month and have harvested 3 sprout crops. I selected 316 steel because it stands up to rust best, and I also wanted a kit with blackout sleeves. I purchased the alfalfa seeds separately. I use one tablespoon of seeds and follow the instructions I found on the internet for growing sprouts: one overnight soak, followed by three days of twice-a-day rinsing while keeping the jar covered, followed by 2-3 days of keeping the jar uncovered but out of direct sun, with twice-a-day rinsing. Once the sprouts are ready, I dry them and store them in the refrigerator in a covered plastic box lined with a paper towel to absorb any moisture. They remain fresh and crisp for a week. I found that I actually do not need two jars. I use one jar and start growing the next batch when I know I am close to finishing the previous batch. Everything fits and works perfectly. I have only one minor complaint: the neoprene sleeve has a smell, which I can still smell a month later despite washing the sleeves several times. I have had this for a few weeks now and I've noticed that the white dish underneath stains very easily from the sprout water. I think I would have preferred to get a ceramic dish underneath to prevent this issue. Also, the rims of the lids have started to rust a bit. Not sure if that is something that is preventable with other competitors. The glass is thick and the jars are rather large. The sleeves are also good quality. Overall it works well, but I think I would have chosen another one that didn't stain very easily.
