I have a small to medium head or a female and this "XL" hat was very tight. I was not expecting the hat to feel like it's sucking out my soul when I'm putting it on or wearing it. I want there to be a little bit of space for my curls and for my head too. Maybe if you want something that will stay on your head when you're riding a motorcycle in the rain, which you shouldn't do, this would be perfect.
