I followed the directions... shaked the pill, punctured it with the little key in the hole, placed it in my 25k gallon pool the night before I (planned to) put my cover on. In the morning I noticed a deep blue stain in my shallow end (that I was unable to brush off) and the pill appears to be empty. I sure hope this stain comes out fully in the Spring and now I'm uncertain what the point of this thing is if it just dumped its contents the first 24 hours it was in my pool. --------------- Supplier responded via Amazon messaging and will be shipping me a replacement pill. The stain has also gone down considerably and I don't anticipate it being visible come Spring. Will update the review one additional time come mid April 2021. ------------- Here we are April of 2022. This inexpensive little pod kept my pool water clear over the winter. Previously we used an expensive “closing” system from the local pool store and spent an entire day adding the chemicals of step 1, then step 2, then step 3 all the while waiting for each step to dissolve. This is my first time buying this product in the hope of saving my pool from turning green thru the winter months. This product claims to do that but it hasn’t lived up to it at all. I put the pill in the pool to slowly secrete thru the winter and it is empty after 3wks of floating in my pool. My pool has gotten greener each day. I can’t afford to buy this product if it’s not gonna do the job it claims. I wish I could get a refund for it not working. Easy to use, just open and drop in pool at end of season to winterize. Used it for the first time last year, pool water was crystal clear when we opened our pool this year. Ordered another already to use at end of season this year.
