  • Louder than the Barracuda drives
Style: HDD Capacity: 4TB
I haven't played a game with these drives yet. But I did use them to double the size of my drives in my PC. I had a 1TB HDD Barracuda drive (J) and a 3TB (K) one that I upgraded to the two 4TB Firecuda drives. I moved my Videos folder from my K drive to my J drive and it moved the files rather quickly, so in that respect they are faster than the Barracuda drives. However, I never really heard the Barracuda drives before. I can hear these Firecuda drives seek when I first turn on the computer and do something with them, like launch an app. Before I upgraded my OEM 256GB SSD to a 1TB SSD by another vendor I installed apps on my 3TB K drive. And that worked fine. The power intensive apps I launched from my SSD and less power intensive apps I launched from my HDD. And I never heard the Barracuda drives. I saw the drive lights on my PC, but didn't hear the drives. So, I'm a little disappointed that I hear these more expensive Firecuda drives. Having said that, it has only been momentarily when I first turn on my PC. I'll play a game and see how the drive behaves then. As for Seagate support. I initially had issues with my J drive. I didn't realize the 1TB drive was formatted MBR so when I cloned it, the Firecuda drive would not expand to its full size. I also was having trouble reformatting it and removing the drives, because Seagate tools created two drives on my PC. Support told me the drive was bad and to return it for a new one. I eventually figured out how to reformat the drive and get it to work as a GPT drive, remove the extra drive, and then I manually moved all of the files from my old J drive to the new Firecuda drive. So, I will give support 0 stars. They were not helpful. ... show more

  • Works great! Don't worry about bad reviews
Style: 530 w/ Heatsink NVMe - Gen 4 Capacity: 4TB
I have had this hard drive in my PS5 since April 2022 and have not had any issues at all. I understand that there are a few bad apples here and there and that is understandable. However, for those who have issues, have not installed it in properly. I understand that here are a few computer techs that want to test it themselves as far as speeds and each one will form their own opinion. From my experiences with Seagate, Internal Hard Drives and External Hard Drives (Particularly the FireCuda), the speeds are flawlessly great compared the basic barracuda models. If something does not work right, there are a number of ways to troubleshoot the problem that you can clearly find on youtube. ... show more

  • On FIRE
Style: 530 NVMe - Gen 4 Capacity: 4TB
Seriously, this thing is FAST. I bought a 4TB for my Steam Library and a 1TB for my OS drive. Together, I have no speed issues running the newest Triple-A titles. Boot times and load times are insanely short. I love them and would totally buy them again.

  • Seagate FireCuda 530 1TB with Heatsink Review
Style: 530 w/ Heatsink NVMe - Gen 4 Capacity: 1TB
Defining qualities: Fast sustained writes. Runs cool. Respectable endurance. Actually available. Moderate cost. 3/4 of my FireCuda 530 with the heat sink is being used as an L2 storage cache for 4 hard drives in a large tower PC. Saving a file uses a 20 GB RAM cache until it is full then the rest is saved to the FireCuda 530 and the destination hard drive at the same time. The FireCuda and the RAM continue to save to the hard drive whatever it couldn't keep up with in the background but the file can still be opened and used before this is finished. The RAM and hard drive extend the FireCuda's life by reducing writes to it. The FireCuda extends the hard drive's life by reducing reads and writes on it. This was about the fifth fastest SSD drive in the world that I could find in April '22. The faster SSD's required a U3 interface, not NVME slots that desktops have, were vaporware or have been discontinued and they all cost a fortune. Fast can mean many things to many people. I'm talking about large sustained writes. The kind it takes to save a 200 GB Apple ProRes video and an audio track together into another one on the same hard drive. Then play it to see how it looks in a few minutes. Even external RAID can't do that. The SSD has to not slow down to barely better than RAID before most of the file is saved and not overheat to 70 degrees and throttle itself. This drive runs much cooler than my Samsung 970 Evo Plus using the MSI motherboard heat sink. Installing a large game or restoring a backup will overheat that drive in about 10 minutes despite my large E-ATX tower case. After learning this lesson, I ordered my FireCuda 530 with the heat sink. The FireCuda 530 has no overheating entries logged in SMART after 1200 hours of use despite being installed above the always warm and sometimes hot video card. The Samsung is underneath it. ... show more

  • This didn't fit in my laptop, but the seller was cooperative and gave me a prompt refund.
Style: 530 NVMe - Gen 4 Capacity: 4TB
I wanted this for my 3-year-old laptop, to expand my storage space. However, it wouldn't fit because this SSD has chips on both sides of the circuit board, while my old drive had them only on one side. (This was a Thinkpad X1 Carbon, Gen 2.) This looks like a great product - I look forward to having a computer that can use it. ... show more

  • Good product
Style: 530 NVMe - Gen 4 Capacity: 2TB
It was truly easy to install. Took maybe 10 min. Formatting was also easy. Securely packaged and arrived in 5 days on 10/9 even though original scheduled for 18-19th. It works and keeps me from having to keep deleting programs from my PS5. The price is VERY though. The size is ridiculously small but, it does the job that I expected. ... show more

  • Great little NVMe
Style: 530 w/ Heatsink NVMe - Gen 4 Capacity: 1TB
Purchased to use in my PS5 since it was in the title. Once installed in the PlayStation, it immediately detects it and asks to format it. This was the perfect purchase for what I needed. If you haven't already tried, I recommend checking out a YouTube video to see how to remove the side plate from the PS5 and install the hard drive. It isn't difficult at all so even if you have no experience with this kind of modification, it is still very easy to do. ... show more
