  • Company refuses to honor warranty, acrylic top warped after only a few months.
Color: Black Style: 30 gal Rectangular Show
DO NOT BUY from this company. Their aquariums come with a “lifetime guarantee”, but they refuse to honor it. I contacted them recently, as the top portion of my tank began to warp after only 3-4 months of use. I used this tank to house mudskippers and mangrove trees, and it is critical that the humidity level stay high inside. But as the top warped more and more, I had to start placing a heavy object (I used a heavy potted plant) to even get close to a sort of tight fit of the top part with the included light fixture. There is no way to somehow just remove the attached top, and I realized it was just going to warp further so after lots of internet sleuthing I was finally able to even find a contact for them. Initially I heard from someone, but after they requested I email copies of my Amazon receipt as well as “as many photos as possible” showing the warping, I never heard from the company ever again. I repeated tried contacting them, even eventually threatened to report them to my state regulator and the FTC, and warned them I would post a negative review on Amazon, and still nothing. Learn from my mistake, and do not support this company. While the acrylic is pretty, i feel it shouldn’t become essentially worthless to me in a matter of months. ... show more

  • Expected a bit more for the price
I researched this product A LOT, and reviews were mostly positive. However, after purchasing this, and setting it up, I have to say that for the $300+ price tag, I was expecting a whole lot more. PROS The acrylic is very clear; much more clear than glass. It is also much lighter (I was able to pick it up by myself). Temps seem to stay more stable, as opposed to fluctuating, like w glass Love the absence of edges, looks more modern, cleaner, more aesthetic CONS The light fixture is a joke. It comes with a cheap, flimsy black hood, and you buy a fluorescent bulb to fit. I just set it aside and bought an LED fixture. I bought the Nicrew LED light fixture. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ID3OK3S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I think it's too bright in the moonlight mode, and there isn't a dimming option. But the daylight mode is bright, but not too bright. You can't top off the tank because the middle of the tank bows inward so much so, that before the water reaches the top, it will overflow! There are two openings at the top, with a thin piece of acrylic connecting them. See pic A VERY cheap piece of corrugated-looking plastic covers this opening, and for the price, I would have expected at least real acrylic, not plastic. See pic You have to remove the light and this plastic covering to feed your fish. You could just slide the light fixture back a bit, but I'm afraid of the lightf falling into the tank and getting electrocuted, so I remove it when feeding my fish. Not that big of a deal, but it would have been better to have a lid that lifts. ... show more

  • Light, beautiful, high end quality and appearance, will never go back to glass
The media could not be loaded. I've had this tank for 1.5 years now. I absolutely love it. You have to be comfortable in the differences in care and maintenance required with acrylics vs glass but I'd never get a glass tank again. The fused top with separate openings creates some limitations but I rarely feel annoyed by it. My tank is a freshwater set up with an AquaClear 110 filter and I have dwarf gouramis, full sized gouramis, ctenopomas (leaf fish), mollies, and dwarf suckermouth catfish. I purchased a 60-90 gallon stand from petsmart (online only style) and it's worked well. The acrylic is beautiful, crystal clear, with perfect seams and rounded front edges. I did not use or install the hood or light that came with this, I had already bought a slim profile adjustable bracket multi-setting LED light and leave the top mostly open. I lose a lot to evaporation but I don't mind putting about 4 gallons of fresh treated water in every 10-14 days. I do 50% water changes with a gravel vacuum(Python with 20" tube) I bought on amazon once every month or 2. After the first 6 weeks my water has remained stable and as near perfect as I can get it with tap water that is pH 8.6 and high in nitrates (I used Seachem Prime and pH 7.5 products on tap water before it goes in, both also from amazon) I use the API full water testing kit weekly to bi-weekly. I was able to fit some very large decor in through the two main openings. It was tricky, but because the pieces weren't solid rectangles, I got things in somehow that are actually larger than the openings (see pics). I only use paper towels to clean the inside or outside of the tank. They work well for algae. I have no scratches anywhere on the tank 1.5 years in to ownership. My heater fit right through the heater opening (first had a Zacro 300W, switched to a Aqueon 150W). My thermometer was a smidge too big for the thermometer hole which is slightly annoying since the cord is more visible but I'm dealing with it. I have the tools to enlarge the hole but I've never gotten around to doing so. My filter is enormous and there's still plenty of room on both sides for the filter opening. Having a fixed top is annoying for netting/catching fish and gravel vacuuming, but I've learned to adapt and I've never not been able to accomplish what I need. This tank has been an absolute joy to own and enjoy. I will continue to get acrylic tanks and hope to eventually get some larger/taller versions one day and start a discus tank. This tank was incredibly light, well made, and I've had no bowing, scratches, discoloration, or any issues. ... show more

  • Leaking after 5 weeks.
Color: Black Style: 20 gal Rectangular
I love this aquarium. Maybe I should to just chalk it up to bad luck, but it started leaking. I set it up the day it arrived (5 weeks ago), cycled, and literally just stocked it with 3 dwarf Indian puffers. Now I have to re-home them in the interim...these are sensitive fish, not easy to relocate, and can't live in a community aquarium. I wish it had sprung the leak before I stocked it....spending over $300 today on supplies for appropriate rehoming while I deal with the manufacturer. ... show more
