I bought the Sea Eagle 420X Pro with carbon paddle package, along with the separate Sea Eagle Quick Sail universal sail. Convenience and durability are the reasons that I chose this inflatable kayak. Weighing only 44 pounds (!) and easily fitting into the trunk of a car made it so much easier for me to finally go kayaking again! It also holds 855 pounds and has enough room for a third (although small) person or pet. My partner and I sit at the ends and our son sits in the middle. The stability is very good, not too much rocking, so we can get in and out fairly easily, but still need to be careful, like any canoe/kayak. The floor is super sturdy, almost hard like a board! But make sure that you've inflated the entire kayak adequately or it'll be mushy. The seats are formed, not just inflatable, so they're more comfortable, but they are a bit hard, so I also ordered gel seat cushions to sit on, and then it's just HEAVEN! One thing: this kayak, although technically a 3-person, does not come with a third seat, so if you want one, you'll have to buy it and make sure that it attaches securely, especially if you're going to be going through rapids (THIS ONE CAN HANDLE UP TO CLASS 4!). You need it to be secure! For us. We only go through rapids with 2 people, but when sailing with our son, who's 14 and a good swimmer, we strap down a stadium seat, with a cushion for him, in the middle and make sure that he has a life jacket on (everyone must wear a life jacket!) There's a detachable skeg which makes it even steadier while moving and paddling. I take it off when going through rapids, so it doesn't get damaged, but I generally do use the skeg. I've still got to get the hang of the sail, but I'm amazed at how easily sailing in the kayak can be with it. Inflating the kayak can take a little time, especially if you're using the included hand pump, but it's do-able. If you plan to go out a lot, this kayak can handle staying inflated all season, being strapped to your vehicle and hauled around that way, especially if you're close to your water source. However, I suggest just investing in a good electric inflator/deflator. Then you can inflate/deflete in a breeze, skip the drama of strapping the kayak down to haul it, toss it in your trunk, and away you go! It'll make your outings so much easier! There's also space at the ends (and middle, if no third person/pet is sitting there) to carry plenty of supplies. Strapping is pretty easy with the attached straps, but if carrying much, you'll need extra straps for security. ... show more

Looking for a boat that can work in white water AND flat water? Look no further, this boat is it. I like to buy top quality gear and this boat did not disappoint, it is made from the best quality materials. You will not be disappointed with this boat. Great size for two, I would not recommend getting the smaller model for two people. The paddling already needs to be slightly synchronized, a smaller boat would be worse. I've done rivers, intercoastal and a little bit of ocean waves with this and it's performed amazing whether 1 or 2 people. To give an example of stability, I disconnected one of the seats and moved it while out on the water and didn't feel like it was going to flip over. Assembly was fairly easy the first time in my house to get the hang of it. YouTube videos helped me get acquainted. While an electric air pump would help (not recommended by the manufacturer) the hand pump moves a pretty good amount of air due to the dual action. Overall great purchase! ... show more

I’ve had a Sea Eagle kayak for 4 years now and use it almost every week. It’s the 420 and is a very well built boat. I use it on lakes And recently on rapids and it is versatile and comfortable. I recently had to reach out to customer service for support as the valve was leaking and even though it is not under warranty they gave excellent service by their patience and sending information to me and Jerry calling me this afternoon to see how it’s going and gave me excellent help and said he would check back with me tomorrow.
