This hammer is comfortable in my hand and relatively inexpensive; however, after only light use the head of the hammer started to peel off. I donโ€™t think it affects my work at all but it might if youโ€™re working with a really soft metal.

    • The face is absolutely flat.
There is nothing convex about the face, it is absolutely FLAT. It will work well for bending metal or wire over an edge, or tapping in fret wire on stringed instruments, but don't count on doing any sort of concave or relief work with the main face. The peen face on mine was pretty good.

    • Stop! Hammer Time!
I bought this little hammer as a light weight tool to work on some copper projects. I didn't need a full size industrial hammer, but rather something that would flatten small pieces of copper and not leave scuffs, scratches, and other marks. This little guy goes a pretty good job. The head is not quite as heavy as I'd like though. It's almost, but not quite, a toy hammer. But if you only need to whack some small, highly malleable pieces of metal for home-based craft projects, it does the job. I'm not sure about long-term durability, but I wouldn't expect to go Full Thor on an army of gargoyles and have this thing come out in one piece. It's not that kind of tool.     • Great Little Bradding Hammer!
This is a nice little hammer for my Straight Razor refurbishing hobby. I bought it specifically to brad the pins on my straight razors when I replace the razor's scales. I have found that it is also perfect for working on my guns too. The small pins that you must drive in for trigger guards can be a pain if you don't have the right hammer and this one is perfect for that. I know that I will find many uses for it besides these though. The handle is great and just fits your hand giving great control for striking delicate parts. It is just the right weight for driving small pins and also for bradding. I don't know how I got by without it for so long! ... show more

I was very disappointed in multiple things about this hammer...one is that the head was very flat and left immediate marks on anything I hammered...and that I couldn't return it! I did reach out to Amazon customer service and they made things right (well, the bot did) but I wouldn't recommend this if you are looking for a domed chasing hammer. ... show more
