  • Work nice
I build models and these are great for detail work.

  • Fair quality, but experience will yield better results.
Well, This is a fairly good value. The shapes and sizes are quite useful. I use these for metal work, sharpening tiny cutters, or deburring and shaping of small parts. The precision of these files is not good enough for finely shaping precision cutting edges on instruments. The quality will be adequate for stone setting, and shaping of parts. You will need higher precision to create accurate facets, precise edges and honed parts though. The buyer or Do-It-Yourselfer will have to make, or purchase, some needle file handles to achieve proper results from this file set. I have found some suggestions on Amazon for you: http://www.amazon.com/Needle-File-Handle-Brass-Chuck/dp/B0058ECVR8/ http://www.amazon.com/Eurotool-Tool-Handle--french-HAN-733-00/dp/B0058ECU4W/ http://www.amazon.com/Wood-File-Handle-Needle-Files/dp/B00FMWHS5G/ http://www.amazon.com/Needle-File-Handle-Jewelry-Files/dp/B00E4XWRQE/ PROS: - Good selection - Even diamond grain size and dispersion along the length of the files - Useful storage case that does not crack and fall apart after a few months of use. CONS: - You will need some better handles with triangle or square shapes to assist keeping the cutting faces parallel to the work. The plasti-dip file tangs are not large enough to hold properly creating inaccurate results. - The diamonds are not sintered very well, and if you push too hard you will break them off. CONCLUSION: I find the quality is quite fair for the price, but you definitely need to scrape off the plasti-dip and use these files with the correct handles for accurate results. These are sintered files and the diamonds are prone to coming off. But, for most people, the price is still good considering these are diamond files. TIPS: - I strongly suggest file handles that have some flat sides to help in aligning the cutting faces to the work. Mark the handles with markers if necessary to assist in maintaining a level cutting profile. - Some slight diamond breakage is normal when you first use them, as with new sandpaper. Be gentle and use even smooth strokes. ... show more

  • Great for certain jobs.
Great Price, Fast Shipping. Great for small, intricate jobs and hobby's. Just wasn't sturdy enough for what I needed them for.

  • They work for what I need
I do a lot of 3D printing and miniature modeling, so I'm using these on plastic and they work great. I've had them about a month or so and none of them has broken or anything. The though sleeve you keep them in was sticky when it arrived so that was a bit gross. I had to wash it off. My husband who has big hands fumbles with them a bit because they are very small, but they work great for me. The rubber on the handles does seem a bit flimsy, but when they fall off I'll just spray them with plasti dip. This is a "you get what you pay for" situation. If you want amazing tools with super comfortable grips, then you'll want to buy a significantly more expensive product. If you're just a hobbyist who doesn't need their files to cut through steel or anything crazy, then buy these. I like them, and for the price, I'll buy them again if they break. ... show more

  • They are okay
I bought these to replace a set that looked just like these for my 3D printing. Quality seemed worse and doesn't really file as nicely as my other set. Maybe the others were more aggressive but I don't know for sure as my old set came for free with another purchase. They pretty much just scuff my prints and don't do much for cleaning where supports were or other imperfections. I would guess they would work on small detail stuff but don't remove much plastic at all, just scuffs. If you have a need for that kind of thing then the price is hard to beat but I would find another grit if I was to purchase again. ... show more

  • Great Value, Great Abrasiveness, Small Size
I got these for working on small carbon fiber model airplanes and man, these are the best tiny files I've ever owned. All the different shapes are super useful and they are fine enough to get almost anywhere you need them. I can't talk too much about their longevity but I will say I've made 3 planes with them so far and even with really consistent use they're just as abrasive as when I got them. ... show more

  • Will wear away at material like regrets do in your life
You know those decisions in your life that eat away at you inside? Maybe you’ve chosen to not question the mechanic who was upselling youbon the car underbody coating; maybe it was the moment you didn’t kiss the date you liked at the school dance and you watched the person of your dreams walk away with someone else. Those decisions that become regret that stab at your heart and chisel out new wounds that cut sharp and deep with a fine precision thats almost admirable if it wasn’t for the searing pain it’s become. These files do the same thing, only to metal and wood. Good product, would buy again. ... show more

  • Nice files but sad handles
Been using these files for a while now and gotta say the quality of the files themselves are pretty good. Haven’t had any issues over consistent use for over a month, however the handles are pretty poor. The rubber on them has a tendency to rotate on some which likely means A: Not enough glue was used. Or if no glue was involved B: The rubber wasn’t formed onto the handle tight enough. ... show more
