  • Great value...better than Husky at HD
I use these to put decorative filing on knife spines. Work great...cut fairly fast, but I find that these diamond coated files allow me to be more precise when I start my file patterns. I'm more interested in the final result rather than speed, but these aren't intended for rapid metal removal. After several knives, the round file (that I use the most) still seems to be cutting just fine. For the money, these are great. If they dull, I will just order another set. ... show more

  • Quality buy at a great price.
Excellent deal. I do a bit of metal working, and have been searching for something like this in stores for a year. Paid about $12 with shipping, and showed up in about three days. Package is marked 150 grit, kinda rough. A trick if you need something finer is to just rub two of them against each other til they soften; I used to do this with sandpaper to great effect. Each piece is stainless steel, with the same diamond coating you find on certain dremel bits/wheels. They each have a different cross-section, including triangle, circle, square, wedge, football, rectangle, etc along with the different profiles shown. I was able the etch up glass, nickel-titanium, and ceramic without any damage to the tool, so it's definitely legit, and sparkly too. Hooray science! ... show more

  • Worth every penny and more
You probably don't have a set of very, very small files, but you need one. Someday, or maybe tomorrow, you will have the need for exactly the shape and size of one of these files, and you will rue the day when you didn't buy these. There are ten of them, with soft rubber handles, and they look somewhat like dental tools - but unless absolutely necessary, I would avoid that application. Actually, once you get these, you will start to look around for ways to use them. ... show more

  • Great for gunsmith table. Good value and quality. 👍🏼
They’ve paid for themselves with just one small job on my handgun. These are a must have for any workspace that does little filing jobs. It’s an easy 5 star rating from me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😎👍🏼

  • Excellent value and long lasting.
I have used the pointed half round file extensively and still don't see any wear on it. On the downside it is missing a "line" of the diamonds on one edge effectively making it almost a "safe edge" file. But for the price I can't complain! And yes they're super short and thus very tiring to use for any length of time. I might make some wood handles for them but for right now it's okay. ... show more

  • clumps cause an uneven finish
Low quality. They have clumps which create imperfections in the edges, causing them to remove material in uneven ways. This defeats the purpose of such small files.

  • Total garbage
These files are not worth even the low cost they are sold at. The shapes are poorly executed, and the coating is very uneven and lumpy. I wish I had read the reviews prior to purchase, and I will never purchase an Amazon offering without reading the reviews again. I find it inconceivable that Amazon can offer tools of this low quality. Shame on the buyer who put these up on the site. ... show more

  • Fine set of files
I'm happy enough with the files as files. I need to mention, though, that only one of the ten files that I received has a rounded edge of constant width. I need to file tiny slots for guitar strings on the bridge saddle and nut and they must be round at the bottom. I was thinking that more of these would be rounded. Aside from that it's a fine set of files and I would recommend them to anyone doing precision flat or grooved work. ... show more
