I really wanted to like these water shoes. The material is nice, they are well constructed, and the pattern is super cute. They’re very boxy though and run big. I ordered using my standard women’s US 6.5 sizing and the water shoes are very baggy. I do have narrow feet so someone with a wider foot may not have the same problem. Unfortunately they are just too loose for wear in the water. I stand-up paddle board, kayak, and swim, and I’m pretty sure I’d lose these shoes in a matter of minutes. You want to wear shoes, but you also want to swim? These will do it! Water passes through the shoe, so this isn't intended to keep your feet dry. Instead, the goal is to gain more traction, especially for instance when leaving a pool. If your local pool has slippery tile between the water and where you need to get to to dry off, these are for you! They provide traction in the water as well, but that seems less important. But probably also provide some protecting from say stepping on a jellyfish at the beach, or harsh/hot sand. Although one imagines a LOT of sand will get stuck in the grooves and the openings in the uppers. ... show more

They are a tiny too big for me, but since it stated it fit up to 9.5, it's right on. They are a lot more comfortable than they look. The sole although thin is more padded than I anticipated. They are very flexible. They will be nice to wear on the hot sand in the summer. Since the material is mess, I'm assuming the sand will flow in and out with ease. My husband is doing swim classes with the baby, and locker room showers can be gross, so the shoes are perfect. He can get in the water with them on and go straight to the shower. He thought they were a bit slippery when dry, but after getting them wet, he thought the grips were good. True to size!

Quality is quite nice. Love these slipper/barefoot shoes. I tried these on when they arrived and they haven't been off of my feet. They make wonderful slippers. The ankle hole is large enough to slide your foot in and out with the option of tightening the velcro. My feet are wide and they love these shoes. I wear 8-8.5 and ordered the 8.5-9.5 women's. They are very comfortable for slippers or barefoot shoes but if I wanted to wear in water I would definitely size down. ... show more
