  • Really Nice, but Some Points
This controller is built really great and feels super nice in the hand. I have 2 elite 2 controllers that have the bumper failure. Dealing with MS is horrible and I really don't want to purchase more bad products from them, so this is a great option. However, I'm personally not a fan of the more PS layout of thumbsticks (two directly next to each other). That is personal preference though - but I think I would LOVE the x-box style layout IF it had the button options at the bottom that this one does. I'm not sure they make that just yet though. Two complaints I have are that at this price point it should have some sort of docking station. I mean, my $60 Gamesir does. Second are the thumbsticks. They're just bad. They feel below average in terms of material and grip. While they do come with some replacements (1 longer one) - none of them are good in my opinion. Overall, its a really awesome controller, triggers feel great - buttons are clicky and the quality is great. I can't speak to longevity as I have not used it much - but will report back if something happens over time. ... show more

  • Premium gaming controller, not so premium app
Just as my title says, this is a very premium gaming controller for your PC. However, in my limited experience with it, I've found that the iCUE app is it's biggest problem. It's not very intuitive to map your controller within the app and even when you do figure it out, the app is buggy and won't save profiles (among other things) to the point that I almost stopped trying to use this controller. Eventually, I got things working more smoothly and was very happy with this controller's performance. The thumb sticks and buttons are extremely crisp and responsive. The triggers feel and sound like your clicking a mouse but not just any mouse, a $100+ premium gaming mouse. The thumb sticks are just as responsive and I love that they are Hall effect sensors and not the very old analog style of thumb sticks. I won't have to worry about "stick drift" becoming an issue like every other controller I've ever had before after a month or two of use. Everything about this controller is premium feeling, and it should be with the price tag it has. This puts this controller into competition with a few other high end controller on the market, one that I was considering to buy until I happen to see this on my Vine page. If it wasn't for the Vine Program, I might not have chosen this controller but I'm very happy now that I did. Other than the iCUE software, I really like my experience with this controller so far. The other critique I should mention is the button placement. It took me a few days to get the muscle memory down for the buttons to the sides of this controller. You don't have to use them if you don't want to but I figured since they were there, I might as well learn how to use them and see if I liked it. I think these buttons were added on for PC gamers being how we have an entire keyboard + mouse that we can make work for use and a controller can only have so many inputs given the nature of it. I like that SCUF thought to add 2 extra buttons just to give people that many more for options with a controller so it can be better tailored to YOU. ... show more

  • Robust, Great Build Quality and Responsive
Super happy with this controller. I've been relying on Bluetooth for far too long and this one manages to provide a comfortable grip with excellent tactile feedback and low-latency input. It comes in the box well packed and with a nice presentation and with a lot of additional accessories. The controller is very customizable, allowing you to change the faceplate, analog sticks, D-pad, and more, including the binding of the buttons using the surprisingly robust and reliable integration with iCUE. I am very happy to see a controller that is PC centric and very good at what it does. The hall effect sticks are incredibly reliable with pin-point accuracy, and I especially enjoyed the tactility of the OMRON switches on the D-pad and the face buttons. It is a level of engineering that puts other controllers to shame with how multi-function this controller is while still achieving a style that doesn't scream gamer. It does take getting used to, especially with the addition of four rear paddles and two palm buttons, but it does truly elevate the experience when you can easily access all sorts of different buttons and commands from your auxiliary fingers or opposite hand. I also very much enjoyed the quality-of-life improvements that the five programmable buttons on the controller's bottom provides, as well as the surprisingly powerful headset jack for more immersive audio when you don't want to use speakers. The price is high but the quality is definitely there. ... show more
