First, If you are sending a package to another country, would I use this? NO. I would use shipping tape. Here's why I like these for 99.9% of what I use tape for. PLUSES: Clarity- it's not the OLD scotch tape I grew up with. Kind of yellowish, didn't stick that well. It's very clear. Grip (stickability :-) - Yes, good enough grip for most things, but while it sticks, if I accidentally tape something and it's a bit crooked, I can usually ease it off and restick it (and THEN I press it down) Price - OK get these while on sale! I got three rolls for about six bucks which will likely last me a year! Uses - it's strong enough to fix a rip on a piece of paper or even a lightweight file. I recently used it to stick a note to recycle bin I share to remind them that bins wouldn't be picked up the next day. It's cold, it's winter here (no snow) and it still stuck well. I can use to stick notes on my door or mailbox for postal carrier. BOTTOMLINE: For my everyday tape needs, would DEFINITELY get these rolls again. Will not waste time or money trying something comparable. This has been the go-to tape for... well, forever! Will use nothing else for gift wrapping -- none of that frosty finish for me. The plus factor -- it holds for packaging like full size packaging tape. It's strong and perfect, with chemical smell. Since you get what you pay for, I've learned not to use so much! :) ... show more

Super sticky and strong, best used for tasks requiring very, very strong binding. Otherwise, go with magic tape, which is suitable for most purposes. Gripe: why can’t 3m get it together to manufacture a decent cutting edge? The edge on the dispenser is dull, and it is a pain to cut off a strip. I have taken to using a small knife for this purpose, which is rather cumbersome. ... show more

    • Fantastic tape
After years of using whatever cheap tape I found on sale, this stuff is a revelation. To test it, I stuck a couple of big pieces of cardboard together with two pieces of this, then left it lying out in the sun and rain for a couple of weeks. After all that, the tape was still doing its job, and I could pick one up and wave it around without the other coming unstuck. I expect I'll continue using this tape as long as it's available. ... show more

This is a good tape. It's strong, and although it's basically transparent tape, it's thicker and more tear resistant than the others. It also has good grip on paper or cardboard. It's what I want. The price is very cheap. It's very affordable and the quality is very good!

this is some quality tape. it’s sticky enough hang things on walls (i’ve used it for fake flowers and vines) but not too much that it will damage the walls. it’s easy to take off and i've used it for years, even in my college dorms. it’s completely transparent and clearer in comparison to the regular green edition. it really is great for most things and i would highly recommend it. ... show more

    • A "must have" for gift wrapping!
I LOVE to wrap presents & the running joke is that I spend as much on wrapping paper as I do the gift (I really don't) ... But, I do ALWAYS use high quality, heavy paper, which is where the need for really great tape comes in ... I have this technique where I "hide the tape" on my folds and seams. I used regular tape for years, but it didn't always hold the seams as tightly as I wanted. I tried double sided tape, which was a ridiculous waste of money, because that didn't work AT ALL. A friend suggested I try "gift wrap" tape ... bahahaha ... it was the worst of all. Last year, I found this tape & its GREAT!! Holds all the seams securely & I can use my "hide the tape" technique with zero concerns. Honestly, it sounds silly, but this tape is a "must have" for people who love gift wrapping & want their packages to look professionally wrapped. ... show more
