It holds the phone really secure, except for when I hit pretty big speed bumps and potholes. It makes grab-and-go of my phone very convenient. OK, so I purchased this for my car so I could have a wireless charging phone holder...and this delivers that. It provides a consistent charge to my phone even while the phone is in its case (unlike my other charger that I replaced with this). Suction works great on the dash and hasn't come off once while the phone is on it. The MagSafe connection holds reasonably well, and this mount comes with a little metal plate that can be added to your phone case for extra holding power; however, the tape on it didn't stick very well to my phone case and came off the second time I pulled it off the charger. I suppose I could purchase molding tape or something more sticky to put it back on, I just haven't gotten around to it. Still, even without the additional metal plate, the phone stays on the MagSafe reasonably well, but yeah, the phone will drop off if you hit a big bump. It does hold my phone up on the dash, which is nice because it's out of the way of the air vents when the heat is on, but it will then obstruct the view. The unit no longer charges after the 3rd day of using it. Piece of junk with a magnet now. There is no light on the LED at the top and I know my charge port works because other chargers work on it. I was already not Liking it because the power cable is attached to the base and uses a barrel jack so you are forced to use their car charger. If it was universal usb or usb-c then that would make life easier. there car charger also sucks, its very thin and loose in my cars charging ports. all other chargers fit much better than this one. Save your money and go with non charging bases. ... show more

It charges the phone. I wish that it didn't have a proprietary cord with it. Add a USB C plu and it would be great. I have to figure out what to do with an extra bundle of wire since the mount and charger are only about 10 inches from each other. It does wobble a bit. I'll add that after using it is that I've noticed that it will kick itself on and off of charge when first attached. After a couple times of doing this it seems to stop. it works, but the charging port is permanently attached to a cigarette lighter adapter (rather than being a USB A) and the ball joint is not a standard size. I have learned the hard way, as I needed to add an elbow between the base and a dock, and it’s pretty much impossible to find a 12mm ball joint (I think that’s is what it is). however, while trying to deal with that, the charger is on again off again as all of us old enough to remember cheap cigarette lighter adapters knows too well. it does mount to a pro clip base, but 60 days in and I am buying a new one - convenient how it always happens after the return period. I should perhaps only give it one star, but I have it two because the concept is sound…the execution is flawed. ... show more
