Was doing a 2016 Acura V6 RDX timing belt and knowing how the Honda serpentine belt tensioners are they are a pain to do with a normal ratcheting breaker bar and socket or even a serpentine tensioner tool set. I bought this and discovered it does not fit the 17mm socket tensioner for a 2016 Acura RDX. The tool would have came in handy for the Honda Odyssey timing belt I did a month ago. made loosening tension on 12 civic easy. curve angle a nice plus, as on some honda applications, ac lines and other stuff in the way would make straight bar slightly more challenging. pretty pricey for what it is though

I purchase this as I was in a jam with replacing an alternator on my 2011 Honda CR-V. There is no clearance to get on the idler pulley. With this tool in seconds you can get the tension off the pulley and replace the drive belt. Worth every penny.

Needed if you own a 2011 Honda Pilot, and wish to change the serpentine belt. Also needed my son to help put on the belt, while I hold the tensioner back. My 19MM breaker bar setup did NOT work, since the engine compartment is too narrow, and I kept backing the bar handle into the firewall when trying to push the belt tensioner back. This curved tool is what you need. The belt tensioner itself is hydraulic and tough to push in general. This tool (or similar) is needed in my opinion for the Pilot....wow, it's that hard, but the tool helps for sure, it's custom made/fitted to do the job, and you won't strip out the 19MM tensioner bolt either. ... show more

This tool is essential for honda vehicles to replace serpentine belt… not an easy job but this tool sure make it easier!! My rule is third time you borrow as a mechanic you should buy it!! Well it took me longer than three times on this one but this one works so much better than the one I was borrowing that now mine is borrowed lol!! ... show more

Honda doesn't give you much room to work but this tool helps. Also the brake fluid has a tab you can press to remove and allow a little more space to work on the serpentine belt. You do have to use all of the room available and move the belt tensioner as far as possible with the tool all the way against the headlight. ... show more
