Its alder body and maple neck will feel familiar to T-style players everywhere, delivering the chunky mids and prominent lows that helped skyrocket this tonewood in popularity over the years. Its vintage "C"-shaped roasted hard rock maple neck is capped with silky ebony for effortless fretting from head to heel. GearNuts players especially love the PT's Schecter-designed pickups, with a single-coil in the bridge for some welcome twang and a humbucker in the neck for thick, full-bodied tones in complete clarity. • Best Strat clone for the money.
First off this is a beautiful guitar. How Schecter put in as may features as they did at <$1000 I'll never know. Best Strat for the money in my opinion. Thing looks, sounds and plays fantastic. Roasted maple neck looks and feels awesome. The atomic frost looks so good with the off white pickguard. Frets are fantastic. The pickups are great, I really like them. The fretboard looks killer and is super flat. Love the brass inlays. I can run up and down the neck forever. The thing stays in tune very very well. I was bending up and coming back down in tune no problem. I had to find something wrong with the guitar. The strings on it were dead when I got the guitar. No problem, I changed them out. The open high e string buzzes (happened before and after changing strings). I tried some adjustments but they didn't help. I'll need a guitar tech to look at it. I always take new guitars in anyway. Just to get it started off on the right foot. I'll update my review once that happens, It should be something they can handle with ease. There's also a tiny chip in the finish where the body meets the neck and a tiny scuff on the side of the fretboard. But it's really no noticeable. Thanks Schecter and Nick for coming up with a fantastic axe. I really couldn't be happier with it. ... show more
