  • 5 years old and still going
I bought this June 2020 exactly 5 years and it still works as if I bought it yesterday. Never had any issues with it in the 5 years I’ve owned it. It is still my daily monitor.

  • Upgrading from a 1920x1080 144hz? DO IT!
I have had this monitor for all of 4 days, and will update back if anything happens.. but here is my current review. Background - So I'm upgrading from the "ASUS VG248QZ" It's a 1920x1080 144hz monitor, which when I first got I was blown away at how I've been playing on 60hz lol... you can tell in FPS games and even in just moving your mouse... It's mind blowing. - It lasted me over 4 years and it's still my second main monitor now after this purchase. - Pros * So the first thing you will notice when pulling it out of the box is holy crap.. this thing is bigger then I expected lol, thats if your upgrading from a 21 or 24 inch. * CRISP.... Yes you can only safely overclock the monitor to 115hz and you might SLIGHTY notice the downgrade from 144hz to 115hz but the crispness and beauty of 3440x1440 is orgasmic, I installed games I don't intend to even play just to see it's beauty. * Seen lot's of off-putting comments about brightness, but when I set it up default everything seemed perfect out of box settings. * The red backlit matched my aesthetic of my gaming setup. * The screen buttons at the bottom right of monitor is easily manageable compared to other peoples reviews. Makes me think what is the problem they was having? LOL! - Cons * 144hz down to 115hz or standard 100hz is noticeable if you are above average at FPS games. * The monitor run's hot, and the first few days I could almost smell it.. if that makes any sense lol, but not so much lately. But if I did touch bottom of the monitor I could def feel that heat it was putting off. * The power cords and hdmi/display port plug-ins are horrendous lol.. - Overall Opinion This monitor has been my best purchase in a long time and most people are scared to pull the trigger on not a well known name brand especially Sceptre, but I have a 55 inch TV from them as well so sort of had faith and it paid off. The trade-off in this monitor will defiantly be for gamers who love the 144hz and MUST have it.. so mostly aimed at FPS players, BUT!! if you are a any other type of genre player.. get this monitor, you will not regret it. You can easily overclock it 115hz and even if ya decide not too the display on this beast is beautiful.. you will sometimes think the image is going to come out of the screen lol ... show more

  • Beyond okay for the price
I understand Sceptre to be budget brand monitors. They are thin, light, attractive, power efficient, and have a relatively high refresh rate which is great for gaming. The picture quality is hard to describe. I've put the Sceptre monitors next to my higher end screens and there's certainly something not entirely right about the reproduction quality, but I can't really tell you what it is. With this in mind, I expected a bigger version of the same quality display. For the most part, that seems to be what I have - just way bigger. Unhappy with 4K and having tried and enjoyed a small ultra-wide in the past, I've been craving an ultra-wide that provides 1440 vertical resolution. Finding one in the $350ish range was too tempting not to try. I can always send it back, right? Well, when it got here, it looks like maybe that's what the last person did. The bag containing the manual had a rip, the box had a lot of tape, and the back of the monitor had some kind of white finger print stains on it. When I saw this, I just knew I'd made a mistake and would be sending it back. But I didn't come this far just to come this far. So I windexed the fingerprints off of the back, assembled it, and set it up. At first I tried being productive. But I kept having this thought in the back of my mind, "you should try playing Doom." After a while I gave in and fired up Doom. I lost track of time in a bad way. I love this monitor. If you like first (or third) person shooters (or whatever) or flight sims at all, you should give one a try on an ultrawide. It's wow. Once I finished the Doom on ultraviolence, I was able to go back to trying to be productive. While it wasn't AS mind blowing as my friend's 49", it was still a huge step up from dual screens. The curve works well enough. The volume of light hitting your face when the screen is all white is a bit... disturbing. One complaint: no height adjustments. It's too low without my stand and just slightly high with my stand. I am able to tilt the screen which is good enough. It also comes with hardware so you can mount it on some other monitor stand if you want. If this thing makes it more than a few years, it will have been worth it. I am looking forward to seeing how well all 3 of my new Septre monitors hold up. Keep up the good word, Septre! ... show more

  • Beautiful... with one Minor Problem...
This does not appear to be a common issue, but mine occasionally loses signal and goes blank at random. (Usually, but not always when coming out of a power management state) A simple cycling of the power is enough to restore function, but it is a bit vexing at times. (Note, I purchased this monitor in mid-2020, and the problem has always been present. It has not gotten worse or better over the years, it simply is) Beyond that, I could not be more pleased with it. The color, the refresh rate, the brightness and ease on my eyes when using it all day long are beyond superlative. ... show more
