At first I thought my purchases of this Scentsationals "Chelsea" Lantern and another similar Scentsationals "Anchorage" one were total mistakes because they were not only ridiculously way too bright and glary, but the wax got entirely way too hot. I even hated it while using it just as a lamp because of the impossible brightness. Worse, although the wax got very hot, it had no fragrance throw at all whether using using the top or not. I refused to send either style back because I loved the lanterns themselves. Being that I have always used dimmers on various lamps and often for a softer, more ambient effect, I got the wonderful idea of getting two dimmers for these two different lanterns. I immediately ordered two of them from Amazon (Litton TT300H-BR ... they come in both brown and white). When I received them, I plugged both lanterns into them and immediately realized just how wonderful both styles of these Scentsationals lanterns could really be. Not only was I able to resolve the impossible brightness issue, but I was able to control just how hot the heated wax would become... I am ecstatic!!! I sometimes use the lanterns as I just described as well as sometimes just nice, ambient lamps (w/o wax) which look better when doing so if I remove the wax plate from the lantern entirely which allows the light to shine through the small perimeter holes in the lid... simply beautiful! Sure, the dimmers were about $15 each, but money is immediately saved for this reason... Most people aren't aware that using a dimmer on any lamp will allow their bulbs to seemingly last forever, making the need to replace these more expensive $4 dollar Edison bulbs almost never although they can be bought both here and at Walmart. Also, I have concluded that the scent of the fragrance waxes lasts much longer if they are not allowed to get so very, very hot from such a bright "full-throttle" 40 watt bulb. Also I must say that even the Edison bulb itself looks much better and more "antique" when it is dimmed somewhat to the desired brightness. When the horrific glare is gone, you can actually see the awesome filaments of the beautiful bulb! There are many similar dimmers that can be bought elsewhere, but I am very pleased with the ones I mentioned above from Amazon. I hope all of the people that were disenchanted with their purchase of any of these Scentsational lanterns get the chance to use a dimmer with theirs before they chunk them!!! It would be really sad to not be able to enjoy these really nice lantern/ lamps in both ways while using the recommended dimmers. I must add that these wax plates will hold only two or three wax cubes at a time, but I have used all kinds of expensive wax warmers (Scentsy, etc.), so I recommend changing the waxes out with new ones by the time you need a third or fourth cube anyway to prevent diluting the new wax in with the old, used-up wax... easy, just place the warmer plate in your freezer, wait about 15 minutes and the hardened wax will pop right out! I am conservative when using fragrance waxes in all of my warmers. I always start out with only one cube and add either halves or whole cubes as they become needed, until I feel it's time for a fourth entire cube, thus avoiding the abovementioned dilution. By doing this, my warmers are always emmiting the highest level of the fragrance. Again, never allow the waxes to get outrageously hot, thus my suggestion of dimmers on any and all wax warmers that use any kind or shape of an incandescent bulb, even the kind that twist in with two prongs... the kind that the brand "Candle Warmers Etc." uses, also sold here on Amazon... love them too, especially the "Candle Warmers Etc. Bleur Fleur dis Lis" and the "Candle Warmers Etc. Chevron" (replacement bulbs only obtainable on Amazon... Np5 one-pack or the 3-pack). I have recently come to like the simple ones with just the plate warmer and the dish (Candle Warmers Etc. and other brands), but they are not illuminated at all, however, they don't "burn" and ruin the waxes... therefore nothing ambient or beautiful about those, yet cost efficient! I hope this information makes for a much better experience when using your wax warmers in the future, no matter their style or brand. Enjoy!!!

Exactly what I was looking for. Warms nicely. Mine did come with a piece of wood chipped and falling off but nothing gorilla glue couldn't fix.

Don’t let the size of this little gadget fool you! It may be small but it is mighty! The design is adorable. The bulb is bold and it is very, very bright. Two or 3 wax cubes can easily fit under its tiny lid and without damaging the “roof”! The “throw” of whatever scent you choose is unmistakable. To clean, simply leave the tray in the freezer for a few minutes and !voila! The hardened melt pops right out! Five stars all around: good value, petite design, great performance, and easy to use and to clean. As I mentioned in the title, I’m in love! Edited to add: I also purchased a Lutron dimmer switch per another reviewer’s recommendation to adjust the brightness emitted from my girl Chelsea 😉

I am the very pleased owner of a Marcone Edison style wax warmer. I purchased my first one a year ago from inside a Wally-world. (Sorry, might be able to say WM). After being very pleased with my first one. I seen Amazon had the same one, and a few bucks cheaper. The wax try on my Marcone is big enough to hold two wax cubes. The company that makes the Marcone, Scentsationals. Also makes very good smelling and long lasting wax melts. Some even come in two different size packs. I use my wax warmer almost every day, from 9am to 9pm. I can get just over two weeks before I need to change wax cubes. Oh, these Edison edition wax warmers make great night lights as well. The 40watt builds put off a very nice soft light. My first Marcone, the bulb has lasted a year so far. It’s used almost Daily. I have my Marcone wax warmers on corner stands at each end of my living room. The soft glow of light is very relaxing and the non-overpowering scent really sets the mood. As for people saying, sometimes the bulbs get so they think they will burn the wax up. 1. If it takes 1/1/2-2 hours to melt/remelt your wax. In cube or puddle form. It’s not to hot. 2. If it does not smell like plastic burning. It’s not to hot. 3. You do not add a dimmer to make your wax and/or bulbs longer. Your bulb is still being turned on and off, so it’s not going to matter. If all bulbs did that, you would have to change every bulb in your house on the same day. And your wax is not going to melt properly. 4. If your wax warmer does get too hot. Buy a bulb 5-10 watt less than what’s in it. 5. And if your wax warmer seems so bright that it needs a dimmer. Try a 15-20 watt smaller bulb. And to add. The corded wax warmers are a lot more safe than the wall plug in ones. These just need a sturdy level surface to place them on. One last thing. I have tried many different types of home air fresheners. Except the essential oils ones. And I must say the wax warmers last the longest.

This is a gorgeous product. You can tell by the material that it is made well. However, it truly is like a lamp without a lampshade. It is seriously sooo bright you cannot just look straight at it. It also takes a while for the wax to completely melt, but the biggest thing for me is how bright it is. Maybe finding a very dim light bulb would help.
