It's sturdy, but the finish is paper thin and scratches off with a fingernail. Did not come with a touch-up marker either, so in less than 4 days I've got a bunch of very visible scratches. Top was also cracked before it was packed. Screw holes are not aligned well, so the molding is crooked. I previously had a $20 coffee table and the finish never came off. This costs 10x that, and already looks awful. For the price, this is not worth it. Only giving 2 stars instead of 1 because it doesn't wobble. If I hadn't thrown out the box, and disassembling wouldn't be a pain, I would return this. Lesson learned about the Palladia Collection. Avoid it. ... show more

    • Very disappointing!
I have purchased many Sauder items before, some good and some bad. This one definitely rates in the "bad category". I can forgive the fact that it took my wife and I working together 3 1/2 hours to put it together (I knew up front that it would take 2 hours or more). But the finish on this table is terrible! I've had some pretty good ones from Sauder, an executive desk and a credenza years ago. But now two items in a row of theirs have been cheap finishes that won't hold up to even the slightest wear. Anything wet put on it will ruin the finish and make the particle board underneath swell, and it scratches VERY easily. Would I order this product again? Definitely not! Would I order anything in the Sauder brand again? Definitely not! Fool me twice, shame on me! By the way, the color of the actual table is MUCH darker and redder than the photograph shown here. ... show more

I like the solid, sturdy assembled table. It was easy to put together took about 2 hours by myself. Straight forward instructions and if u needed it there is online videos to guide you through. Highly recommend 2 person carry if going up stairs, I about broke a rib doing it myself, to wide to carry right and weighs 90lbs. I do not like the fact I know it's not real hardwood but if u know about buying that , it's a steal at under $200. I would buy more from the collection. ... show more

This table almost got 5 stars. If we could do 4 and a half that's what we would've done. There was a place or two in the instructions that could've been more clear. We had two ppl putting it together and I highly recommend doing it that way all the way. The edges on the table (Where the top meets the side on the lift up) was not perfect. I don't think anyone but me will notice so it will be okay, it just makes me wonder about the overall longlasting life of the table. It is very nice, esp. for the price. Overall we are very satisfied with the purchase. The lift up mechanism is very tight. You do need to grab both sides to pull it up. I think overtime and use this may get easier. It does stay up well. It wont close unless you make it. It seems very sturdy and solid. I would post a pict, but it is exactly as it looks. The storage inside did pleasantly surprise, I was picturing it being shallower. ... show more

    • Great Value- lots of work
Sauder always offers a great value for the money- but you also get what you pay for. A Million pieces to put together, some of which are NOT labeled, so you have to figure it out yourself. Someone who loves to (and is used to) put things together, can definitely figure it out, for those who don't do stuff like this on a regular basis, it is a big challenge, and much more overwhelming. The table has no drawers to get into the items under the lift part of it, so you have to pull it up and toward you, THEN walk around the table to the other side to get what you need. It would make much more sense to either add drawers or have the lift-top part go both ways (toward and away from you). My fault for not thinking about that before, though, and I can deal with it, even though it is inconvenient. Just a "Food-for-thought" though, for the manufacturer. Maybe they should have clients test it BEFORE bringing it onto the market, to determine if there are some things they could change prior to having people upset or frustrated. ... show more

When I first purchased this coffee table I loved it. It seems pretty solid and looks very sharp. However, I have this coffee table for 6 months, and if you put anything warm on it (we us it to eat on everyday), the top chips off. Also, along the edges of the top piece it is bubbling up. I don't think I can fix this at all, so I will end up buying a a new coffee table. My suggestion would be, if you get this table, make sure you lay down a table cloth before you eat, and coasters for your drinks because it doesn't take much. ... show more

    • Scratches easily and difficult assembly
This coffee table is just not a good value for the price. The surfaces scratch easily. Mine came with damage to the box. I was also missing the brackets to stabilize the lift top. One of the pieces had damage to a corner. I would have returned it but once you take all the pieces out of the box there is just no way to figure out how to get them back in for shipping. There are 3 steps during assembly that are very difficult to accomplish. It took me 3 hours to put it together by myself. ... show more
