Same exact bookshelf was listed on a different retailers website (under a different manufacturer name, strangely enough), for 1.5x the price. So glad I found it on Amazon. Easy enough to put together - takes some assembly and patience, but all the hardware, tools, and instructions come with it.I got the tall version of the bookshelf. It is true to the dimensions listed. Narrow, so it hugs the wall nicely, I do like that it comes with wall anchor straps, a necessity if you have kids. All the paint on the metal frame was in perfect condition, no blemishes or issues. The shelves are textured woodgrain look laminate, in a light weathered color. All the shelves were in perfect condition, although it was a little tough setting them into the frame... a couple of them rubbed on the frame when settling them into the shelf, but it's no biggie. I love these shelves. They are exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something that could hold a bunch of toys without sharp edges that would hurt the kids when they ran into them. These shelves are awesome and they were super easy to assemble - took me 20 min to put together. They came with a wall mounting kit so that they wouldn’t fall over and I yet to install that but it looks fairly easy to attach to the wall/shelves. The fame is metal and the shelves are veneer (or something similar). They are not made out of real wood but they look good and for the price these shelves are fantastic. ... show more

Good quality. VERY well packaged, to the point where I'm astounded that anyone reviewing had issues with damaged pieces. Very well labeled for assembly. Not the product's fault as the height is clearly listed (so I didn't take any stars off for this), but it ended up being a much shorter bookcase than I had imagined for a listing of "tall bookcase" & portrayal in the pictures shown. The bookcase is a solid bookcase that stands at 4.5 ft tall -- and is a perfect mid-size bookcase. Some reviews said they thought it would be taller -- 56" isn't even 5ft -- if you're looking for something taller than the average person, this isn't the bookshelf for you. I appreciate the bookcase, because for 10ft ceilings, it will be just under half the distance. It won't feel like it's a library in the room that it sits in. The bookcase is solid and fits all my items. The modern-minimalist look of the bookcase fit nicely into my office decor. It was easy to assemble. Commentary: Good medium sized shelf for the home office. The dimensions are accurate and this fit pretty well with my home. Beige carpet and tan walls with a white roof went okay with the wooden finish. I was very impressed with the instructions and the parts and pieces. The packaging was meant to protect the item and came in VERY compact but good package. Impressive. The shelf seems sturdy enough and I piled a bunch of binders and books on it already since it feels sturdy. The powdered metal frame is good and doesn't show rust or missed welds. Which is all positive. Looks: Looks okay, I would not put this somewhere like the living room. I keep it in my home office and it barely makes the cut, a little "college apartment" looking I think so nothing upscale. Size: It is the right size like I said for medium use. This shelf will not dominate the wall. The tope shelf is eye level which I like, though I could have used one more level I think and I would have been happier. The frame is not too wide so perhaps this is a good thing. Instructions: Excellent. Assembly: Easy... 30 minutes with a screw driver and 1 person. All the holes matched up and fit. Everything labeled clearly with stickers (remove of course after assembling). Plenty of extra parts. Packaging: Superb. Conclusion: I would purchase another. I wish there were more color options and possibly an enclosed one to put in the living room. But the price point is fantastic for this product. One of the pieces of the outer frame wasn't drilled properly. I called the customer service number and was almost immediately connected to a helpful person who arranged to send a replacement. I was able to assemble the shelves temporarily without making the connections through the missing holes, thanks to a supply of small c-clamps. The packaging was sturdy and well-cushioned by structures of corrugated cardboard. The steel structural components are light but strong. They're easy to put together with the provided Allen-head machine screws and wrench. After the delivery of the replacement piece, I completed the installation and loaded the shelf completely full of heavy textbooks and reference works. It's sturdy and stable. As young adults in our first apartment, my husband & I are always on the lookout for high quality, inexpensive furniture. But as many know, high quality & inexpensive don’t often come hand in hand. That is why I love this bookshelf so much! It is stylish & study without costing an arm & a leg. The modern, industrial style looks great in our living room, and I can honestly say it would look good in many settings! Building the product took me about 30 minutes, and it was straightforward. Having two people build may speed up the process, but I did just fine on my own!
