The finished product is a nice, sturdy desk with a decent amount of storage. If you’ve assembled knock-down furniture in the past it should be pretty straightforward. There are a lot of pieces and a lot of different hardware, so take your time. I took the better part of a day to assemble the desk, with several decent breaks throughout the day. The desk arrived with 2 pieces damaged in shipping. A quick call to Sauder and new pieces were en route. It took about 10 days for the replacement pieces to arrive, but when they did they were in excellent shape and fit perfectly. The keyboard drawer is a bit janky since it fits exactly against the other side of the desk, so I just use the drawer for pads of paper and other supplies. Other than that, it’s a desk. Although it was a lengthy process to build, I think it took about 11 hours over 3 nights by myself, the finished product was exactly what I wanted. A larger very sturdy desk, with a lot of room. Nice black color. I definitely recommend spending the little extra. I can clearly feel the difference between the $300 desks vs this $500 desk and it seems worth it to me. Although there is a lot of leg room, I feel that I have to get my chair really in the center to utilize it all. I also don't love how the keyboard tray is set. I set it up on the left(larger side). When I pull it out, the tray is under the right side still by almost two inches. This forces my hands to be set up closer to the left, which ends up causing my hand to bump into the left side of the tray. Its not a huge deal. I am overall very satisfied with this purchase and recommend it. One last note is that apparently the Bleeker st and Palladia Model are identical. Obsidian and Wind Oak are apparently the same dark color which is black. Different sellers use different names. ... show more

I love the desk and it looks great! It's the perfect size if you work from home. Here's a couple of things to know before you buy - It takes work to put together - plan on spending an afternoon doing it. The instructions are pretty good, but there were a couple of steps that were difficult to understand. You will need to keep a desk cleaner handy - smudges do show. ... show more

Overall I love the desk. Love the color and the room for working on and room for fidgeting your legs around underneath. Wish it was able to have a keyboard tray on both sides so you aren’t locked into which side you want to place your monitor. It is truly a huge puzzle to assemble. It would be helpful if all parts are labeled so you don’t have to guess “is this the right piece?” As you can see in the picture where the two larger drawers are there is a gap so they don’t line up with the rails therefore do not slide well which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. ... show more

Just did not make the cut for my liking. A normal size executive office chair does not fit under the desk making it awkward to sit beyond your comfort level. I even removed one of the lower panels opposite the keyboard to allow myself to be pushed in a little further and that helped but still awkward. I also did not like the fact that it leaves marks with each and every touch. That just frustrates me having to wipe it down with each use. We have a 2 desk office so my wife ended up with this although she does not spend the amount of time I do at my desk and her chair has no arm rest so she can position in a little better. Good sturdy desk, not easy to assemble. I also had a missing part, the metal plate for connecting the 2 desk sections together was missing I had to go and buy a makeshift plate from Homedepot to connect the 2 desk sections together. Looks great, but it's an emotional roller coaster to put together. Takes an entire day if you're doing it alone. Must set it up where it's going, because it's not going to move very easily. Drawers a bit of a pain to put together and attach.
