First of all I have used Saucony (most specifically Peregrines) for years during my trail runs and races in Colorado and in the Alps. I LOVE Saucony brand. The traction is spot on and I have never ever slid and fell, even in mucky or snowy conditions. Yes, the uppers tend to wear thin with major use but for the breathability and the fact that they dry so quickly with any wet conditions is a big pay off for me. Also the fact that they are well below average price range for great trail shoes, I don't mind if I have to shell out more for another set. What I have gotten used to doing is buying 2-3 pairs and just rotating them on occasion to make them last longer. The rock plate protects my feet from sharp rocks, the heel cup fits snug without excessive rubbing, the laces snug the uppers without too much rub either. I buy an extra half size bigger than my normal shoe to allow for big descents that don't mash up my toes. The shoes are light and lightly padded at a 4mm drop. All that said, I haven't yet tried the 13s and am excited as I heard great improvements have been made to the next version. I have had knee surgery recently and found as I got back into running these hurt the balls of my feet a little. I blame my feet not the shoe as I haven't been on my feet as much as I used to. I ended up buying Saucony's Xodus Ultra (1 not 2) with a 6mm drop and a bit more cushion and I absolutely LOVE them. So if you are needing more cushion than the peregrines offer look to the xodus.

The sole on this shoe has good grip and the upper is well-stitched and comfortable. The are only two things I don't love about this shoe - there is a little extra cushion on the back of the heel on the upper that rubs a tiny bit on my Achilles tendon - it hasn't caused a problem but I suspect if I hiked a long hike it might start to bug me. The other thing is that the heel is a little more elevated than I would like - I would prefer a flatter, more level shoe bed vs. a slight heel rise.

These are styled more slender than I normally purchase. I like them though! I get compliments every time I wear them. I work 12 hours at a time and these hang tough and don't hurt my feet. I feel arch support in them yet I have enough toe room. I want them in more colors!

These sneakers are not like what's pictured… These sneakers are neon colored and I could not be happier! I've received so many compliments and I am quite comfortable with them at work! My first shift lasted 13 1/2 hours and I was able to maintain my workflow without having to take breaks due to pain

I really want to love these; I ordered my usual size(9 1/2, what I typically wear in New Balance trail shoes) and a half size larger(10). I am returning both and ordering a full size up(10 1/2) to see if they fit any better. They are supposed to fit snug though, so keep that in mind. The toe box is small and there was not enough space for my toes, especially when running in the hot summer months in Texas. I like for my toes to splay while running and that helps with hot spots and blisters. If you are used to Altras or most of NB trail shoes these will feel tight. I am specially looking for an alternative to the NB Hierro which also run small but are pretty heavy and do not breathe all that well. This shoe has a heel to toe drop of 4mm so you are going to get more feel of the ground underneath. Hoping the larger size will fit better. I'll update my review once I get them.

If you are looking for a shoe that won’t break the bank & is a great quality. These would be my recommendation. I literally worse these for the first time in a 4.5 mile run, and it was like I had wore them a million times. They are so comfortable. Didn’t have that awful “break in” window. Great grip on trails. Especially seeing it’s fall and there are ALL the leaves on the ground where i live. 10/10 recommend to everyone.
