  • Phenomenal trail shoes, without breaking the bank
Size: 11.5 Color: Black/Carbon
Absolutely love these shoes. I use them trail running, and they can handle super loose sand, gravel, jagged rocks, mud, dirt, any surface you throw at it. The lugs make it extremely easy to keep you running very close to your pavement pace, no matter the conditions. Serve the same purpose as $300+ trail shoes, and do it very well for the money. They're water RESISTANT, but it's not the goretex version so they're not water proof. It'll handle some rain and a puddle or two fine, and dry out really good, but torrential rain and fully submerging them is definitely going to get them soaked. Despite it not being gore tex, they're still tough as nails and very durable, while still being super comfortable. Not as comfy as good road shoes, but that's what trail running is. It's an outstanding value, but not including the price you'd still struggle to find a better trail shoe. ... show more

  • Durable with traction on and off pavement
Size: 10 Color: Dusk/Navy
Solid construction and comfortable with easy break in. No, it’s not Hoka but I wasn’t interested in looking like a Clydesdale or drawing attention of others to my shoes. Good traction for trails. This is not a trail shoe but sole is solid enough for stepping on rocks. Durability based on another pair is excellent. I just bought these for another color. ... show more

  • Good Race Shoe. A Bit Narrow In The Toe Box
Size: 14 Color: Pepper/Bough
Overall, I like this show. Not in love with it but really like the aggressive sole. Have raced two ultra marathons and the shoe has held up really well. Like I said the sole is very aggressive and in one race caused me to trip (of course dragging the shoe over a series of roots didn't help the situation). My racing shoe used to be Hoka, but they dialed back the sole enough that when the trail is wet, I didn't feel secure. Anyone who runs Hoka knows they have humungous toe boxes. The Saucony toe box is narrower. This past weekend we had near ninety degree - sixty-five percent humidity and I was moving slightly in the shoe. This caused a tailers blister (or bunion but in this case a blister) to form. Wasn't show stopping but just wanted you to be aware. You can avoid this or if you want larger toe box side-lace (lace from one hole straight up to the hole above) for the first two holes and then lace as normal, making sure you use ALL the remaining holes. This helps a lot. I have another one-hundred kilometer and a fifty-mile race in the next forty-five days. I will update my review if needed after those events. ... show more

  • Great all-rounder shoe
Size: 10.5 Color: Dusk/Navy
Look good, feel good, perform really well. I walk the dogs, cycle, use for concept rowing machine and wear casually out - fits the bill every time.

  • Perfect in the most difficult hike of my life!
Size: 11 Color: Bough/Shadow
Hike on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, this shoe was the perfect choice. Perhaps the best decision in preparation for this difficult hike was the purchase of this shoe. Handled the rocks (wet and dry) mud, rain, and though not waterproof, my feet never got wet. Someone said this shoe caused you to slip on rocks when wet, but this was not the case for me. Saucony is my favorite shoe brand, as it fits my feet perfectly with lower arches than so many that get uncomfortable for me over time. ... show more

  • Avoid these shoes in wet and rocky conditions.
Size: 7.5 Color: Pepper/Bough
I climbed a local NH mountain, Monadnock, with these. The trail is extremely rocky, and in this case, the rocks had been whetted down by a storm the previous night. They were not a good choice; they had no grip at all and I narrowly avoided injury on multiple occasions. These shoes are light, comfortable, and serviceable in dry conditions but are not a good choice in wet conditions. ... show more

  • Love, love, love these shoes!
Size: 12 Color: Pepper/Bough
I began running just over two years ago, and when I first went to buy a new pair of running shoes, I tried on a pair of Saucony road running shoes. I fell in love immediately. Fast forward... After spending a lot of time on paved trails and sidewalks and streets, I started to run trails. Trails are the place for me! So, I did some research and found these on a website stating that they were one of the best overall trail running shoes on the market at that point in time. I figured that I would give them a try. I do not regret that choice at all. The shoes fit well. I do have wide feet. Not, abnormally wide feet, but wide. These shoes fit pretty well. I do wish they were just a slight bit wider, but They still fit well. So far, I have ran two 50k races, an 8mile and more training runs in these than I can count. The traction is magnificent. I wear ankle gators most of the time, but otherwise, they do not do a great job of keeping the elements out of the shoe. I have many miles on these shoes, and the way that things are going, I anticipate getting many more miles out of them. Key point. I you do run on paved surfaces with these, the tread will wear down significantly fast. Just an FYI. ... show more

  • Great hiking shoes
I have only been on a few hikes in these but so far I am really enjoying them. I have worn Saucony shoes for running and casual activities for decades, but this is my first experience with their hiking shoes. I have worn Salomon XA Pro 3Ds for over a decade for hiking, but unfortunately they updated the design in the last year or two and I don't like the new design or all the negative reviews about the fit and durability so I decided to try something new. Since these were highly rated and I enjoy my other Saucony shoes I decided to give em a shot. Through the process I ordered Xodus Ultra 2 Runshield, Peregrine 14, and Peregrine 14 GTX. I really liked the color combination of the 14 best but the Runshield was a bit narrow, stiff, and uncomfortable to me. I only tried both 14 and 14gtx because they were try before you buy and I wanted to get an idea of the breathability of the GTX vs. non-GTX. After several days of walking around the house in one of each I decided that I would prefer the GTX over the (unnoticeable to me) extra breathability of the non-GTX. So far they are just as comfortable and grippy as my Salomons, time will tell if they hold us as well. I have put the Salomons through some pretty rough conditions and they held up well. I do miss the speed lacing system that Salomon offers. We don't cross rivers, but there are lots of wet spots and shallow crossings so the benefits of GTX outweigh the disadvantages for me. ... show more
