  • Love, love, love these shoes!
Color: Pepper/Bough Size: 12
I began running just over two years ago, and when I first went to buy a new pair of running shoes, I tried on a pair of Saucony road running shoes. I fell in love immediately. Fast forward... After spending a lot of time on paved trails and sidewalks and streets, I started to run trails. Trails are the place for me! So, I did some research and found these on a website stating that they were one of the best overall trail running shoes on the market at that point in time. I figured that I would give them a try. I do not regret that choice at all. The shoes fit well. I do have wide feet. Not, abnormally wide feet, but wide. These shoes fit pretty well. I do wish they were just a slight bit wider, but They still fit well. So far, I have ran two 50k races, an 8mile and more training runs in these than I can count. The traction is magnificent. I wear ankle gators most of the time, but otherwise, they do not do a great job of keeping the elements out of the shoe. I have many miles on these shoes, and the way that things are going, I anticipate getting many more miles out of them. Key point. I you do run on paved surfaces with these, the tread will wear down significantly fast. Just an FYI. ... show more

  • Stellar shoes
Color: Bough/Shadow Size: 12
Great grip. Well made and sturdy. Soles don’t wear down too quick. Comfortable for 15mi hikes in the mountains.

  • Good Race Shoe. A Bit Narrow In The Toe Box
Color: Pepper/Bough Size: 14
Overall, I like this show. Not in love with it but really like the aggressive sole. Have raced two ultra marathons and the shoe has held up really well. Like I said the sole is very aggressive and in one race caused me to trip (of course dragging the shoe over a series of roots didn't help the situation). My racing shoe used to be Hoka, but they dialed back the sole enough that when the trail is wet, I didn't feel secure. Anyone who runs Hoka knows they have humungous toe boxes. The Saucony toe box is narrower. This past weekend we had near ninety degree - sixty-five percent humidity and I was moving slightly in the shoe. This caused a tailers blister (or bunion but in this case a blister) to form. Wasn't show stopping but just wanted you to be aware. You can avoid this or if you want larger toe box side-lace (lace from one hole straight up to the hole above) for the first two holes and then lace as normal, making sure you use ALL the remaining holes. This helps a lot. I have another one-hundred kilometer and a fifty-mile race in the next forty-five days. I will update my review if needed after those events. ... show more

  • Great hiking shoes
I have only been on a few hikes in these but so far I am really enjoying them. I have worn Saucony shoes for running and casual activities for decades, but this is my first experience with their hiking shoes. I have worn Salomon XA Pro 3Ds for over a decade for hiking, but unfortunately they updated the design in the last year or two and I don't like the new design or all the negative reviews about the fit and durability so I decided to try something new. Since these were highly rated and I enjoy my other Saucony shoes I decided to give em a shot. Through the process I ordered Xodus Ultra 2 Runshield, Peregrine 14, and Peregrine 14 GTX. I really liked the color combination of the 14 best but the Runshield was a bit narrow, stiff, and uncomfortable to me. I only tried both 14 and 14gtx because they were try before you buy and I wanted to get an idea of the breathability of the GTX vs. non-GTX. After several days of walking around the house in one of each I decided that I would prefer the GTX over the (unnoticeable to me) extra breathability of the non-GTX. So far they are just as comfortable and grippy as my Salomons, time will tell if they hold us as well. I have put the Salomons through some pretty rough conditions and they held up well. I do miss the speed lacing system that Salomon offers. We don't cross rivers, but there are lots of wet spots and shallow crossings so the benefits of GTX outweigh the disadvantages for me. ... show more

  • great quality trail shoe.
Color: Dove/Dusk Size: 12
love the look and feel of these. they have little details like waterproofing around the toes, loops for race timers and nice laces. 6 stars if I could.

  • Light and quick.
Color: Black/Carbon Size: 11 Wide
On hard surfaces my feet feel the lugs and it goes from annoying to uncomfortable. Great on softer trails and sheds mud like it is their job. Would recommend.
