The Kinvara is a good shoe for tempo runs and all types of intervals when you do not want a plated shoe. It would likely be a good race shoe as well, although I personally prefer a carbon or nylon plate for racing. The fit is as expected. Breathability is excellent. Wet surface traction is better than average. The upper is very comfortable. Weight is pretty light. Some people use the Kinvara as a daily trainer. I find that it has too much energy return for slow runs. The shoes just want to go fast. They work great at tempo runs, threshold runs, and intervals runs. The Kinvara works best when combined with a slow run shoe (and maybe a race day shoe) in a rotation based on the type run that is scheduled.

Love this. Great trainer, light, low drop, low to the ground, very responsive. But unfortunately it is one of the few still around. It seems every new shoe gets higher and plushier. I just hope Saucony does not change the shoe too much going forward or discontinue it.

I am on my feet on concrete most days for work. I got my first pair of Saucony 30 years ago, and more recently I've worn Altras and ASICS Gels - both of which I like. I thought I was missing out by not having Hokas - so I got some but pretty much hated them from Day 1. I ordered these in 11W, which seems perfect in the fore-mentioned shoes and these are like slipping on kid-gloves. Really comfy. I'm a happy camper.
