I haven't known about Batsheva Marcus for a long time. I followed an Instagram account that mentioned her at some point and it's safe to say I am now one of her biggest fans. I really enjoy her stories and posts on her own page, but also her stories and igtv series on Maze (her clinic's page). She is fun and witty and makes talking about sex and pleasure fun and easy. When she announced she was releasing a book I was ecstatic! I mean, I emailed my library immediately and demanded they pre-order it so I can read it asap! When I finally got my hands on the book it was better than I had ever anticipated. Batsheva's wit and intelligence oozes through her words in the book. The damn thing is a page turner, which I could not put down and continued to revisit certain parts until my 14 days were up and it had to be returned to its home at my local library. I was thrilled to see my husband took a hint and bought me a copy as an early mothers day gift. This book is much more than some practical advice, it is a reminder that we are all on a journey and that there is always room for improvement in our sex lives. Her quiz is really interesting and a good reminder that we don't know it all, but through her decades of experience, Dr. Batsheva is there to hold our hands and guide us to the most fulfilling sex lives we can possibly have. This book is for all stages of the sexual career and is intended so. It is so much more than a handbook or guide. She takes a completely different approach than other popular sex books such as Emily Nagoski's, 'Come as you are'. I have been screaming from the rooftops about this book to all my friends, colleagues, and family.     • Fun Quiz Personalizes the Book's Advice!
I've read a lot of "self help" books before but this is the only one that allowed the author to get to know ME, the reader. The online quiz (link provided in the book) helps you see where your sex life is holding and where it has room to improve. You can certainly read every page of the book, but I liked focusing on the chapters and advice provided for my specific areas of improvement. I mean, if vaginal pain isn't your issue, no need to dwell on it, right? Anyways, who doesn't love taking a Cosmopolitan type quiz? This one was still fun but more substantive and provided advice tailored to my particular situation. Highly Recommend! ... show more

There's a lot of wisdom in this book. It turns the whole chicken before the egg thing upside-down- what's working and what's not in your sex life. I really relate to the way the author says that it's not always mental. I also really appreciate that she writes about pain and says it doesn't have to be that way. There are real answers here (with a plan of action!!!) and I love how she writes that real beauty can come out of the mundane. The author is brilliant and has accumulated a great deal of knowledge on the subject yet she she writes in a very accessible and down to earth manner. The book is full of common sense yet also generous with the newest social scientific information on the subject.
