I’m in love, this is the perfect keyboard for a multi computer setup. I have both my Macbook and my iMac on my desk and need the ability to flip between both. I was juggling two keyboards, but not any more! First, the setup was simple when following the included directions. I was easily able to pair both computers to different assigned Bluetooth keys. I timed it, and it takes about 5 seconds for my other computer to recgonize the switch before it will react. As far as comparing it to my Apple brand keyboard: - they keys are almost indentical to the touch - they have the same spacing of keys - the thickness of this keyboard is almost identical to my Apple one - instead of the caps lock light being on the key (like apple’s) it’s in the top right hand corner of this keyboard (not a big deal, but a noted difference) - this keyboard has feet to allow you add even more height to the back of the keyboard if you wish, which gives it a quarter of a inch height difference over not using the feet. - it has the number pad keys (which is why I was originally searching for a new keyboard) Overall I’m extremely happy about this keyboard, and can honestly reccomend it if you’re in the market to replace you apple keyboard. ... show more

Out-of-the-box impression: I like this full-size keyboard, it feels very much like the Apple usb/wired-version it replaced. Nice amount of space between the keys, comfortable for typing. Purchased it to also use with a brand new ipad Pro because the Apple Smart Keyboard got so many bad reviews. Although the keyboard's instruction sheet is brief it contained clear and simple "how to" instructions on its use and in pairing with other Blue Tooth devices. OK, it did help that I already knew to also go into my iPad Pro's settings (gear icon) and turn on 'Blue Tooth.' Then, I just followed the few easy steps outlined in keyboard's instruction sheet. My only complaint so far is that as far as I can tell, there is no indicator light to tell you when it is on. Being battery-operated, this is a critical design flaw in my opinion -- so easy to forget to turn it off. Doesn't help that the on/off switch is hidden from view -- located on the backside of the keyboard. Good-to-know: a light comes on when you press the 'caps lock' key and makes a good quick-check to tell if keyboard is on or off (or if batteries are dead!) Generally, I am impressed with this product, it's packaging, and instructions. Just received it a few days ago so I may update my review in a month or so. I’ve purchased after market items for my computer from Satechi before and have been very pleased with them. I was hoping this would be as good...sadly, the blue tooth connection goes in and out and the keyboard lags frequently and terribly. The keyboard layout and the design are great and I liked the price, especially for having a full sized key pad. But, the lagging connection was too much and I had to go with a different keyboard. I bought this to write my PhD thesis and spent an afternoon going through the 30 pages I wrote with this keyboard, just correcting all the errors. Satechi makes some really great stuff...this is not one of them. ... show more

    • Satechi.customer service came through with sending me a new keyboard

Loved the look of this keyboard with my MacBook Pro....and liked the 10 key for numbers. I was OK with the slight hesitation with the bluetooth connecting. After using it for 3 months, the b and n keys stopped working. Called for support. Nothing would help. I was told to return for a replacement.....at my expense. After reading reviews that others had the same problem with keys not working, I decided not to spend more money on this device. Why would I expect the new one to be any better? I am using my old USB keyboard and it is really reliable. No hesitation for keys and I'm sure this workhorse will continue to function until I decide to spend more money on a keyboard. :( At least with the keyboard on USB you don't have a cord in your way like a USB mouse. My Bluetooth GearHead mouse is working well. The company wrote to me after I wrote this review and are sending me a keyboard that they will check out carefully before it leaves the factory. At that point I will be able to send the keyboard back in a prepaid package. When this is accomplished and I have a working keyboard, I will certainly change my review. Satechi sent out a new keyboard priority mail. So far, working great! ... show more

Update (23 March 2015): Satechi reached out to me and replaced my original keyboard. This new keyboard is MUCH IMPROVED. I no longer experience problems with key recognition. Its key throw is much tighter, too, and I would say that it's comparable to the MacBook Air keyboard. I hope to experience this level of performance from this Satechi bluetooth keyboard over its lifespan. Accordingly, I have updated my star rating. Thanks for improving my user experience, Satechi. ---------- Original review: Quick switching between devices is my primary reason for buying this keyboard and in this, it works fine. However, its key throw and key recognition is absolutely atrocious. As I'm typing this review out with it, I've had to keep on correcting missing letters. It appears that the only way for me to type accurately would be to bang on each key really, really hard! This is such a marked contrast to the smooth and quiet typing on an Apple wireless keyboard. I don't think I'll be using this keyboard for very long. Further, there's no way to check battery levels. Satechi, why do you disappoint so greatly? ... show more
