I think the baby may be enjoying it but that mirror leaves SO MUCH to be desired! I guess an astute infant could recognize a face in that cloudy, distorted vision that reflects back to them, but I was hoping for visual quality more akin to a locker or shower mirror, both of which would also be shatter-proof without sacrificing ALL of the clarity. I was disappointed to say the least, because I was so delighted to see that Sassy products were still around now that I want them for my grand baby. But this was disappointing. ... show more

Let's first address the thin film covering the mirror. After mine arrived, I looked at all the review photos to see if I could figure out if it was SUPPOSED TO look cloudy (blurry) and I could see that either: 1. there was something wrong with mine or 2. the film on it was very tight; so tight that I couldn't tell if there WAS a film Then I read several reviews discussing how difficult the film was to remove. I attacked the mirror! It was just a film. Next, some reviewers complain that this mirror is not real, it's just a flimsy reflective sheet. Well, yeah! Did you WANT a heavy mirror bashing your baby in the face? I know I don't. This isn't for putting on makeup with precision, it's for your baby to play with. Babies suck on things, accidentally break things, throw things, etc. For this mirror to be safe and durable it needed to be "just a flimsy reflective sheet". Now, it's so lightweight that my baby DOES knock it over a lot (usually on his face). I have considered cutting a slit into the triangular side and sliding something heavy in there to keep it pinned down. (If I do that, I will return here and give feedback about how it worked out.) Finally, how is the mirror as a toy for a baby? AWESOME! My son is 4 months old and this is, by far, his favorite toy! He talks to himself non-stop! If I would have known this would be his absolute favorite I would have bought it sooner! Worth double the price (not in materials, in how much it entertains!) ... show more

When we took our baby to physical therapy to work on her flat head, this mirror was in heavy rotation. It was the first toy that she was actually interested in (2 months) so I hopped on Amazon and got one for home. She has loved this mirror since! It definitely helped with tummy time and we also used it to encourage her to turn her head from side to side (the mirror plus rattle kept her attention.) This mirror is lightweight enough that my baby can pick it up - it's a nice large size so it's a bit awkward for her to pickup but fun for her. As she's gotten older (now 11 months) she's interacted with it differently. Right now she loves to crawl over to it and pick it up, smoosh her face against and then shake the mirror over her head. A couple of notes on the mirror. There is a film over the mirror that you need to remove! I didn't realize it was removable for a few months because it's not obvious, or easy, how to remove it. There is velcro that keep the stand of the mirror closed - I don't love this because when the mirror gets knocked over the stand collapses and the velcro sticks. So I do need to frequently un-stick the velcro when standing it back up. ... show more
