  • They sound fantastic for the price!
Color: 3inch White
I didn’t expect much quality at this price point, I bought it because it went with the aesthetic I was going for. The bass is low, but the treble sounds great! These are perfect for a small desk setup or if you’re in an apartment. If you’re looking for high frequency speakers look elsewhere, but if you’re looking for a solid set of mediocre speakers, this is a sure fire bet! Positives: Premium look Great sound Great treble Good size Negatives *The cable that connects the two speakers is short, about 8 feet. This could be an issue for some. *The maximum volume is best suited for an apartment, don’t expect to rattle any windshields with these. *Theres a bright green light indicating the power status that could possibly be too much for some users. ... show more

  • Great sound, easy setup, affordable price 👍👍
Color: 3inch White
Bought these last week. I am really happy with my purchase. They were really easy to setup. They have a nice variety of ways to connect them. I needed them for my PC Desktop so I used USB and it was instantly connected and recognized. You have 3 knobs, Volume, Treble, and Bass. I think the adjustment amount for Treble and Bass isn't too high, there's a noticeable difference when you use them, but not by much. Volume knob however works great! I give it 10/10 for easy setup. The sound is above average, but not premium like some pricey Bose speakers, I give it an 8/10. They look nice and are not too big. For the price, I am very happy. I would recommend it to anyone looking for speakers with a budget of <100$ ... show more

  • Impressive sound from such small boxes!
Color: 3inch White
Bluetooth set up is very straight forward. Just press, and hold, the volume button to cycle between the Bluetooth (blue), Analog Aux (green) and USB (red) inputs. For such small powered speakers they impressive and loud enough. Stereo imaging is rock solid in the center. Comparing them to Tannoy System 8 near field monitors is a bit unfair, the little SW-208s lack the ability to move the air for a strong punchy bass, and with the enclosures being so small, with little woofers that in most 3 way systems would be the mid-range, bass suffers and dialogue has a bit of a wooden sound. You're left with an "impression" of the bass. But they're a huge improvement over listening to a podcast from a phone. I recommend these little speakers. ... show more

  • Better Quality than Most Bookshelf Speakers Sold on Amazon
Color: 4inch Dual-Mode White
After trying and returning 3 other bookshelf speakers from Amazon (Amazon sells a lot of cheap garbage nowadays), I finally found a winner with these Sanyun speakers. The other speaker brands I bought that I returned, I recommend you not buy: Edifier, Bestisan, Pyle or PyleUSA. These Sanyun speakers remind me of the Sony bookshelf speakers for my computer I had a long time ago (Sony doesn't make active bookshelf speakers anymore). The fact that these Sanyun speakers specify the amplifier inside them (24bit DAC), which I don't see any other speaker brands on Amazon doing, signifies quality in sound. They also have a play mode option of Monitor or HiFi, which also illustrates the quality make of these speakers. They aren't super bass-y like other garbage speakers on Amazon; they have pretty quality sound for all low, midrange, and high. I'm glad I can stop playing the buy-and-return speaker game with Amazon. I wish Amazon wouldn't sell so many cheap items. Garbage much! I recommend these Sanyun speakers. ... show more

  • Great speakers!
Color: 3inch White
Bought for my son as his first set, he picked them out. I did not expect much but they have plenty of bass and sound great! I have no idea what the other people are saying by being junk. They are hefty and solid. All the cables are standard issue. Plus at 70$? Thats a phenomenal price point.

  • volume knob doesn't work, inadequate documentation, USB mode is extremely flaky
Color: 3inch White
These are total bargain-bin speakers, poorly engineered, with design defects and no useful documentation. The biggest engineering bug is that the volume knob doesn't work when you use it with USB. This problem is no documented anywhere on the Amazon page. It does seem to be discussed in the printed booklet that comes with the speakers, but the English is so bad that it's hard to tell what they intended to say: "Note: When using Bluetooth mode and USB cable connection mode, the speaker volume may share the same volume with the device, so the main volume knob is not set with the highest and lowest volume scales." If you can understand that sentence, then good for you. I'm guessing it came straight out of Google Translate. The speakers can be used in three modes, but the printed booklet that comes with the speakers doesn't mention how to set the the mode. For this information, you need to carefully look through the Amazon page, where they have this note: "Long press 2 seconds to change the mode, green is audio mode, red is USB connection mode, blue is Bluetooth mode. " I assume "audio mode" is intended to mean using it with a phono jack. "Long press" refers to pressing and holding the volume knob for a couple of second. This is really bad engineering. For usability, all they needed to do was make the thing detect when it's connected to USB. (Hey, it's not that hard for a USB device to detect that!) As it is, you get the thing out of the box and plug it in through the USB cable, and you have absolutely no idea why it isn't working. The micro-USB cable they supply does not mate nicely with the port on the back of the speaker. It's hard to tell whether you're pushing it in hard enough or not. Low-quality parts, cheap engineering. One speaker has all the connectors sticking out of the back. The power cable sticks out about 6 cm. This is awkward when you're trying to fit the speaker into a confined space, e.g., it wouldn't fit on my windowsill. So if you're buying these because they look compact, keep this in mind. The only good things I will say about these speakers are that they do have pretty decent bass response, and they were certainly cheap. [EDIT] I spent an afternoon doing some coding while playing sound through the speakers, and I experienced even more problems. The biggest hassle is that the USB input worked fine for a few hours and then abruptly stopped working in the middle of playing something. I tried power cycling the speakers, but that didn't help. I had to shut down my computer and reboot to get the speakers working again, but then the USB input stopped working again after a couple of minutes. As a last resort, I plugged the speakers in via the analog phono-plug cable (which luckily I'd saved). This fixed it, but it eliminated one of my main reasons for having bought this particular model of speakers, which was that I wanted something with USB input. A second thing I noticed is that the broken behavior of the volume knob is not even consistent. What I originally observed was that the knob seemed to have no effect when I was in USB mode, and I assumed that this was what was being documented in the tortured English of the documentation, as quoted above. But I later noticed that turning the knob while in USB could actually have three different effects: (1) sometimes it has no effect; (2) sometimes it works; (3) sometimes it deactivates the speakers and the only way to recover is by power cycling. So basically it looks like whoever made the USB interface was just totally incompetent and/or didn't do any testing. The USB interface is just completely unusable my experience. A final issue is that when I was in USB mode, I found that for some material (e.g., the PBS News Hour's streaming programs on their web site), the sound output was extremely low -- e.g., too low to be easily audible when there was background noise such as a fan. This seemingly can't be fixed in software, because even when I max out my operating system's volume control, I just can't get a level through the USB interface that is loud enough. Of course, if the volume knob worked while in USB mode, then you would have a way to convince the speakers to give some more gain -- but as described above, that's a disaster. ... show more
