*****UPDATE*****After placing this review, I received a message from Andrew about his products. He was very good to talk with and offered a replacement for the Sand Shark that was completely broken and the part that broke on the other one. He sent those quickly to me. All is good and they are both working as they should now. I originally purchased one of these for my boat and the 2nd time I used it I forgot to take it apart and clean it out after using it. That resulted in it not extending so I had to reach underneath the water to screw it into the sand at the sand bar. I tried to tap it apart and the screw part that goes into the sand broke. I figured this was my fault for not cleaning it out after using it so I purchased a second one. Well that one lasted for a year and yesterday the handle fell apart so now I have two broken sand sharks. I would not recommend these to anyone as they are not reliable and don’t work anywhere as good as the pvc tube type that everyone else uses on our lake. Lesson learned. They look really cool and have nice packaging but at no where near worth what they cost. ... show more

We visit some pretty busy beaches and park in close proximity to other boats. This anchor has given us the peace of mind that the rear of the boat won't drift. Even in the current of the mighty Mississippi River, this anchor is effective at holding in 3ft. I love how portable it is and the quality storage bag was a nice surprise. I was also very happy with how rigid the handles were as I had to really bury the auger deep a few times. I am very happy with my purchase. Great product! ... show more

    • Broke the first time I used it - Update 4/24

The media could not be loaded. As mentioned below my first one broke but they immediately sent another and the design had changed which meant I was probably sent an old one. Perhaps hoping it wouldn't break. Anyway, the support was exceptional which is more than I can say for a lot of companies. We use the sandshark to hold down 6-12 meter kites for kiteboarding. I've had two 10 meter kites tethered in 30knt winds. In these kinds of winds our life is literally in danger when self landing or self launching. It's been great so far and has definitely given us peace of mind during extreme conditions not just saving our beacon. Is this tool worth it? For kiteboarders definitely! This version of the sandshark has lasted two seasons now without issue so I revise my rating. -------------- first post -------------- I'm currently trying to reach out to Land Shark for support as of writing this review. If I'm able to get support to fix this issue I'll update this review. But, just after using it the first time the release lever as part of the extension lock broke. It's moving freely in the lock housing so I can no longer release and extend the anchor. I'll go out on a limb and say there must be a bit of a design flaw regarding the locking release mechanism and a piece meant to hold it all together broke off or fell preventing it from ever engaging the locking pin. Sadly, there is no designed in manual release mechanism in case the lever breaks. I still have hope for this product as this anchor solves some issues in the kite surfing/boarding world that can be life threatening. The last thing you want is to risk your life on simple mechanical problems. So, I'd like to recommend this product to all sailors alike but we'll hold off and see what Land Shark guys have to say. ... show more

I purchased 2 of these sand shark 2.0 anchors 3 months ago for my 25’ boat , they are so awesome compact design and I use them to hold back of boat at sand bar and never move a bit boat is not able to float around . I had the long stick it polls prior and they are hassle to drive in hard sand and they pulled out and scuffed my boat . forget looking far anything else for sand bar just use regular boat anchor in front and 2- sand shark 2.0 in back of your boat will stay put no worries if your boat is going to float away or hit another boat . I also love the sand shark stretch ropes to hold boat to anchors , they have plenty of stretch to take on other boats waves , I rate sand shark 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ awesome products !!! Stop thinking about it Push the buy now button you won’t regret it , pure quality this is coming from a super picky guy . I also want to add they fit in nice padded bag and won’t damage anything in boat . ... show more
