I like a clear plastic cover to protect my cloth tablecloth. I usually buy thinner plastic ones and they get a tear after a while and wrinkled where a hot plate sits. This one seems pretty sturdy so far. It’s easy to clean and seems much more resistant to tears and wrinkling. They usually last me about 4-6 months I think this one may last longer.

I left my tablecloth in the packaging for about 2-3 weeks after it arrived; When I opened it, the plastic had a distinct odor. The next time I purchase a plastic tablecloth I will open the packaging immediately upon arrival and spread it out, thus allowing air to circulate around it. My husband and I washed out tablecloth with soap and water and spread it out on our deck, draping it across some chairs. About a day later we brought it inside. Most of the odor was gone. We spread the tablecloth across the back of the sofa in our family room and left it there for another day or so. The odor was gone. We could have tried applying baking soda mixed with water after washing the tablecloth with soap and water, but it would have required a lot more work.

I have ordered this four times. Once in Dark Gray, and we loved it so much (easy to clean, great with our four young kids, flannel backing protected our table, and it looked really nice for a vinyl tablecloth)! I thought I’d get it in the Deep Teal. It arrived folded in the manufacturer packaging (just like the Dark Gray), but when unfolded, it stuck to itself, and the vinyl coating pulled away from the white flannel backing in multiple places, making the tablecloth completely unusable. Luckily Amazon refunded our money. So, I thought, okay, maybe it was a “lemon” and I tried again. Same thing. Then I thought it might have been the heat or the cold during transit, so I ordered the Deep Teal a THIRD time. And the same thing. Again, luckily Amazon refunded us. I really want to love this (and I do in the Dark Gray), but I’d like it in a different color. I am wondering if the Deep Teal has a fla somehow. Maybe I’ll try the Dark Gray again, since after almost a year of use, ours has started to show the white flannel where the tablecloth bends at the four corners of the table. Or maybe another color, but none of the others really excite me. 🤷🏻♀️

I bought this product to replace a similar product that had a tear in it. I should have looked more carefully at the product description. First, upon unfolding the product stuck to itself. This made it very wrinkled when I put it on my table. I recommend putting it on the table at least 3 days prior to inviting anyone over. The tablecloth I was replacing had a light felt liner on the underside, making it smooth. I had no worries about it damaging my wood table. This tablecloth is all plastic. Because of the way the plastic stuck together, I am hesitant to use it. I am afraid it will damage the finish on my table rather than protect it. The tablecloth is good for a picnic table or a very casual table, but I will not use it on my wood topped dining table. I would return the product, but it is too late to do so.

My past vinyl tablecloth cover had a trim sewn in the edging. Whereas this one is not finished off but just cut off. It looks fine but it's less fancy with the finished edge if that is your preferred look.
