As an espresso lover who tries to limit my caffeine intake, particularly in the evenings, I've tried many decaf coffee options that left me wanting more. San Francisco Bay Whole Bean Coffee's decaf espresso roast, however, truly satisfies my cravings for a rich, full-flavored decaf espresso. The dark roast beans have delicious notes that come through in the smooth, full-bodied brew. The quality of the beans is evident in the complex, aromatic flavor. Unlike some decaf coffees that taste flat or watery, this one is rich and as you would expect from high quality beans. I find myself wanting a second and third cup, not because I need an extra caffeine boost but because the taste alone gratifies my desire for an exceptional cup of joe. PROS: Rich, complex flavor comparable to non-decaf espresso Full-bodied mouthfeel without bitterness Fresh, high quality beans Decaffeinated so you can enjoy it day or night Packaged to maintain freshness CONS: More expensive than some other regular coffee beans Kinda need an espresso machine to brew properly For anyone looking for a delicious decaf espresso that doesn't compromise on bold, indulgent flavor, I can't recommend San Francisco Bay's decaf espresso roast highly enough. Flavor Name: Scandinavian Blend Size: 2 Pound (Pack of 1)
I’ve prepared this Scandinavian blend so far using my two main brew methods: moka pot and French press. It’s a tasty, full-bodied dark roast with smokey notes, though not nearly as smokey as a French roast. The beans are matte, not oily. I’ve brewed through half the bag already, and I’m still getting to know this blend. So far, I quite like it. Being a darker roast, I’ve been careful to grind even coarser than I would for lighter roasts in my French press, using a Timemore C2 hand grinder. Set on 26 clicks. Also, I let my electric kettle cool for a minute or two after boiling before I add the water to the grounds in the carafe. Boiling water is no bueno for darker roasts in a French press. I grind the beans a bit more coarsely for the moka pot as well. So far so good with this Scandinavian blend in both of my preferred brew methods. I’m enjoying it enough that I’ve also purchased the SF Bay French Roast and look forward to trying it. This brand sells a high value product. Decent quality for a good price. The expiration dates on both bags I’ve received are well into the future. Is this freshly roasted, small batch coffee? Absolutely not. I’m okay with this for the amount, price, and convenience. I make my coffee with an AeroPress. I find this French Roast to be mildly flavorful, and full bodied. Came well packaged and was fresh. Low acidity and low bitterness. I will purchase again.

We blend this 50/50 with Amazon Fresh, Colombia Whole Bean Coffee Medium Roast, 32 Oz for a reduced caffeine triple espresso. I used to roast my own coffee for 10 years, but this blend we've found is the best and most consistent we've had. I do a 1:4 lungo shot with 21 gram finely ground and tamped in the basket, and I usually give it a spritz of stevia solution and a couple tablespoons of coconut milk for what we feel is a great morning wake-up drink. ... show more

This is a dark roast I purchased for some first gringing of a brand new grinder, "SEASONING THE GRINDER BURRS". The coffee was OK. Nothing to really write home about,,, BUT,,, BUT,,, THE bag was purchased as a 2 pound bag. Wouldn't you expect a full 2 pounds??? I did. But, I weighted the beans, and this bag was 3/4 of an ounce shy of 2 pounds. It may not seem much, but, 2 pounds is not 1 pound 15 and 1/4 ounces. I ordered extra dark coffee, so what should I have expected---it is bitter. But in a good way. I am mixing it with a milder coffee for a less intense taste.

My brother loves this coffee. It’s a bit expensive, so he doesn’t use it every day. I buy this for him for his birthday and for Christmas. He loves it. Wish it was cheaper, but it’s less expensive than going out for coffee!
