This is a great cover that significantly enhances your S6. For casual users who find Android and DeX to be capable, you will love this. For the most part, it can really make the S6 a light laptop and definitely allows it to compete very well with iPads. It’s not perfect though. When installing it for the first time, be sure to clean the back of the tablet and apply light pressure for an hour or more, otherwise, it can apparently fall off. I let it sit overnight and a few weeks later, it shows no sign of falling off. The keyboard itself does not have its flaws, however. Some of the keys such as the number keys can be too small for individuals with larger fingers and the key travel can be better. When compared to the Apple keyboards for their iPads, it does not feel as refined nor accurate, however. Also, the touch pad can be annoying if you try to use gestures and scroll with it- at times, slight touches can be registered as clicks which can cause some agitation if you’re not used to it. Overall, this is a good buy, and I would recommend it for S6 owners who want to get the most functionality out of their tablets.

Updated Sept. 25, 2019: The keyboard has stayed put for the last few days. Maybe the adhesive needed time. I have used it the same - carefully handling it - yeah it was expensive. Glad I got the keyboard. Teamed with the stylus, they make using the Tab S6 easy and fast. Love both! I received my keyboard cover the same day as my Tab S6 and adhered the keyboard right away. There were no fingerprints or dirt in the back of the Tab S6 - very clean. During the first day of use this keyboard has come off the tablet a couple of times - the adhesive is not strong enough. First time - while typing at kitchen counter, my tablet slid off the keyboard back - if I had been closer to the counter edge there would have been a fall. Second time - had my tablet on coffee table watching YouTube... not touching keyboard or tablet... the keyboard back loses adhesion. For the price, this is not acceptable. Otherwise, it functions perfectly and is very useful, offsetting the price. This major flaw drives the two-star rating.

Let's start with the basic message. This keyboard does not turn Samsung's new tablet – which is powerful enough to function as a real computer – into something that competes with a full-blown laptop. But it's close if you use the DeX operating system enhancements, and it provides significantly more functionality if you do a lot of typing compared with the always awkward to use virtual keyboards. Also, contrary to the one star reviewer claims that a popular Chinese aftermarket keyboard is better, I cannot fathom that assessment, having use that keyboard. But it's a huge step up on most of the aftermarket keyboards in several regards, and you can actually touch type on this thing. Pros: 1) Super easy to attach – both the keyboard and the backing stand are magnetic (but see cons) 2) Excellent feel/feedback, with decent key travel and not too cramped even though it is obviously not full-sized. 3) Samsung provides the so-called DeX interface which gets you closer to the appearance and functionality of a computer desktop – (but again see cons) 4) Back cover contains at least some protection for loss of the S pen - which is begging to be lost if you keep it attached to the back cover with just its stock magnetic connection. 5) Protects both front and back screens against impact and abrasion – (admittedly any decent case would do this for less money!) 6) Very lightweight and thin adding minimal mass to the tablet's light weight. 7) Reasonably attractive styling 8) Useful function keys that can make the tablet simpler and easier to use in terms of accessing operating system features Cons: 1) The magnetic adhesion is perhaps not quite strong enough to keep both the keyboard and the kickstand backing plate in place against more than just minimal force. This is particularly problematic in relationship to the kickstand which only works if you don't put any stress on the machine – if you do the backing plate loses its modest magnetic grip and falls off. You have to be careful in this regard or you will spend a lot of time reattaching the backing plate and/or the keyboard. 2) Cost – priced out .of sight for what it offers – consistent with traditional OEM price gouging on this kind of accessory. Priced at something like $100, it would be a pretty decent value compared to the cheap Chinese Bluetooth keyboards, but at $170 it's just simply overpriced.

I was an electrical engineer for 15 years, and quality can be defined simply as FITNESS FOR USE. This product fails miserably to meet that requirement. The magnets that hold tha back to the tablet are too weak and before you can begin typing the tablet falls over. The keyboard itself is perfect. It has just the right amount of tactile resistance to make typing easy. And the trackpads works well. This is my 5th Samsung tablet and the tablet is excellent but the keyboard is a real disappointment. Samsung should correct this debacle and replace every one of these junky keyboards if they want to keep the trust of customers.

I see a lot of people wrote reviews stating that the adhesion does not stick. I think maybe the problem is that the tablet wasn't wiped clean before attaching the keyboard cover. If the tablet has any kind of oil build up on it from the skin, it isn't going to stick properly. Try wiping it down with an alcohol swab first. Then let it sit a few hours to let it bond before using it. I didn't use my tablet until the keyboard arrived. Then after I put the keyboard cover on, I let it sit overnight. It turned out great. I am actually concerned about having to ever need to remove it, if the keyboard fails. For now the keyboard works wonderfully. I've owned other keyboards with my other tablets and they always ended up failing. The keys never lasted very long until they stopped working and sticking. You can tell this is a major upgrade as far as keyboards go, but I did think it was a little over priced. If it last as long as the tablet, it will have been well worth it. Only time will tell.

I really like this keyboard cover. It works exactly like my Surface keyboard cover with the exception that I had to stick this keyboard cover on to the back of my tablet. The keyboard works well. The keys are a bit smaller than a standard keyboard but it's fine to type on once I get used to where the delete and number buttons are relative to my hands. The response is great. The keyboard does not have backlight but I don't need it. The track pad works as well as the track pad on my Macbook Pro. I like that there's an option to start the tablet in Dex mode if the keyboard is attached. I just wish there is an option to automatically switch the tablet back to tablet mode when the keyboard is detached. I almost didn't get it due to the overwhelming number of negative reviews both on Amazon and elsewhere stating that the cover (not keyboard) part of the keyboard cover does not stick well and will fall off the device. I figured it was worth a try to get it since I have a ring on the back of my phone that is held by adhesive and it has stuck solidly for years even though I've removed it and re-stuck it on different cases three times. Anyway I figured I would return it if the keyboard cover really is as defective as some make it out to be. So far, it's stuck on really well - I cannot imagine it falling off at all. This is how I installed it: I placed a soft towel on my counter and slid the brand new tablet out onto the towel, glass side down. I ran a dry microfiber cloth over the back of the tablet, just in case there's any dust particles on it. Then I removed the plastic from the back cover, making very sure not to touch the adhesive, and placed the back cover on the tablet. Once it's in place, I pressed down gently but firmly over the entire adhesive area for about a minute. I then left the cover on the tablet for a full day before using the kickstand. I don't intend on removing the back cover unless I no longer want it because doing so may weaken the adhesive. As it is, it works wonderfully. If the adhesive ever starts to weaken I will come back and update my review.

As many a YouTuber has noted in their reviews of this keyboard case, it just doesn't stay on. I have followed all the directions and the longest it has ever stuck is a week, usually slowly disconnecting and sliding down until it pops off and my tablet ends up on its face on a table or sliding off the table to the floor -- neither a good place for a $600 tablet to end up when using OEM accessories. Installation has you apply pressure for a few minutes to the tablet, potentially causing stress to the screen and the frame. It's just a terrible design and Samsung should own up to it. In addition to installation woes, the keyboard cover can overlap the screen when closing the cover, causing the tablet to think the cover is open and turn on. I have had this happen in a bag and, because my Bluetooth earphones are connected, the tablet thinks its OK to unlock without my consent, causing all sorts of unintentional touches and icons on my home screen to be all over the place when I get to my destination, not to mention the battery drain while it is on. A bad product design from a company that should know better. The 2 stars are for the keyboard feel (great) and the touch pad (fine though accepts unintentional touches when typing which is annoying at the least and destructive to data at the most as I have had numerous occasions where the unintentional touch pad touches have either caused a back swipe or a cancel button to be pressed, losing all my work). Disappointing.
