No more curved display edges. Battery life is good and the camera is very good. It's a little bigger and heavier than an S25 but to get the 512GB increased memory, we had to go to the + model. It is really too bad that phones will not allow the user to install a micro SD card. This phone is top-of-the-line. I recommend getting it on sale. I previously used the s9, then the s20+, even when the s24 and s25 were out. But I wanted to have a phone that's the most up-to-date. This phone is many leaps and bounds better than the other two. It is easy to use, since it follows all the functionality of the previous phones, and you can easily download your settings from the previous ones, even if they are dated. It is incredibly fast, and Youtube videos are very clear. I have the 512 GB and was sad that it doesn't take the SD card to put in another 512 GB, but I suppose that's what most phones do these days now. It's well worth it if you get it on sale. It still is when it is in the normal Amazon price, but try to get it while it's on sale. I know the new phone's approaching, the s26, so there may be more options to get this phone. I also think that the s26 might not be that much better, so either one works, and they changed their security update policy to I believe five years so it's not a bad deal. In short, I'm glad I got this one. It does everything that I want (I'm a simple man, a phone's a phone, and I don't want all the bells and whistles), and it will last me possibly over six years for me. ... show more

    • Good hardware ruined by Samsung software

I bought this phone intending to use it as my primary device running Android apps. If it were possible to install LineageOS or some alternate firmware then I might be using it for that purpose. However, it seems that's not possible. Some reasons why I want to install alternate firmware include: 1) I do not like the Samsung UI 2) I want to log in as root, change OS settings, run SQL statements on sqlite databases for apps, etc. 3) have the option to make changes to Android, compile those changes and flash those changes to my device. Since as I previously stated that is not possible, I am now using this device as a home router by enabling the wireless "hotspot" feature. Here are the things I like: 1) Good hardware. The upload and download speeds are significantly faster compared to iPhone 15 Pro Max. Things I do not like: 1) The lowest battery charge setting is 80%. Since this is plugged in all the time, I'd like to set this to 50%. 2) This is connecting my EightSleep mattress to the internet (the mattress doesn't work unless connected to the internet). One issue I have is that the Samsung S25+ will automatically install updates and reboot. And when it reboots, my EightSleep mattress is then disconnected from the internet and I cannot control it and I loose all sleep data for that day. 3) And finally, this is what I dislike the most: when there are no devices connected to the hotspot, it will automatically turn off. I've already had to go to the device, unlock it, and manually re-enable the hotspot three times today. ... show more

I switched from an iPhone 13 Pro Max to the S25 Ultra. I have had this month for about two months now. Best decision I have ever made. The phone is highly responsive, and the customizability is a great selling point. Given the speed and overall premium feel, this was an excellent value for my money. I love the battery on this phone as well. I can get about 2 days' of moderate usage from a single charge. Power saving can stretch this to 2.5 days. For the most part this is a good phone. Prior to these S25+ phones we had S10+ phones - which were good also good phones. Had I noticed that the volume control buttons are on the same side of the phone as the power button - I would not have ordered these. This is most inconvenient for anyone with large hands/fingers. The volume buttons on the S10+ phone are on the opposite side as the power button. One other minor inconvenience is that in order to save a screen shot - on the S10+ phone you pushed the volume down and power button on opposite sides of the phone. With the S25+ phone it's not very easy to do so with the buttons on the same side. I might mention though that you can save a screen shot on the S25+ phone with a palm swipe across the screen. If having the buttons on one side of the phone is no big deal - then this is a good phone. ... show more
