I’ve been using Samsung Galaxy phones for many years now. Overall, I like the quality of the phones and though I’ve been tempted by Google Pixels I’ve stayed with Samsung because they have good cameras, - I do kind of regret getting the Plus size, my hands are small so it can get uncomfortable to hold for a long time and it’s harder to find cute cases for the Plus size - Given how large some apps are these days I think you need a minimum of 256GB of storage otherwise if you tend to keep you phone for several years it will tap out in storage way earlier. - I like how they changed the screen to be flat, not sure when that changed but previous Galaxy phones had a curbed side and that always led to accidental touches - No scratches on the screen and I’ve had this phone for almost two years with no screen protector on it ... show more

The Samsung Galaxy S24+ is a great phone, I don’t really have many complaints after using it for over a year. I came from using the Galaxy S8 before this phone, and I purchased the S24+ before it came out and got it right away. This is a great improvement in so many ways from my last phone, which I also think looks and feels premium. Now that the Galaxy S25+ is out, it is an improvement over this one, mainly in terms of performance because of its new chipset, and the phone itself is a bit lighter, but the S24+ still performs very well. The Ultra version comes with and supports the S-Pen, which this does not, if you are interested in that. I got the 512GB version, which allows for way more storage on my phone coming from the S8 which only had 64GB of storage. But the S8 allowed for microSD expandable storage, which the S24+ does not. I feel this is a slight let down for this phone but it seems that Samsung hasn't had that on its S Series phones since the S20. It does allow for a decent amount of storage on its own though. Another thing that this phone and many newer phones don't seem to have anymore is the headphone jack. This has not been too much of an issue for me though I usually just use Bluetooth and you could use a USB-C headphone adapter if you want to. With the S24+ I have experienced virtually no issues when it comes to its speed using any app, playing games, watching videos, general usage, or with multitasking, and I have not experienced any heat issues with this phone that seemed out of the ordinary. The screen is AMOLED and 120Hz which looks and feels great. I have used higher refresh rate monitors with my computer and I only had a 60Hz display on my last phone before, I really enjoy the higher refresh rate display being on my phone now. The brightness is fine, I don’t really have much of an issue seeing the screen outdoors, it can also go very dim and has an "Extra Dim" mode, and it automatically adjusts nicely. The fingerprint reader is under the screen now too. On my last phone it was on the back of the phone next to the camera. I don't mind the fingerprint reader being positioned there and it's kind of cool how it can read the fingerprint through the screen, maybe some people would rather have it somewhere else though. I haven't really tried the face recognition yet that the device has so I don't have anything to say about that. The camera on this phone is great and I don’t have any complaints really. The “Night shot” mode that you can use with the camera can make a photo at night or in the dark look almost like it is taken during the day. I have also taken photos of the moon just by zooming in and the amount of detail and quality you can get just from taking a picture with your phone is really amazing. The speakers on this phone also sound good and are a great step up from the ones on my last phone. When using the S24+, especially when watching something or playing a game it feels like the sound surrounds the phone and you can tell when the sounds are coming from way more than the speakers on the S8, without using headphones, which I really enjoy. When this phone was released, it had Android 14 with One UI 6 as its default launcher. I was using the One UI 7 Beta when I could after signing up for it, which seemed to work fine, now the update is out and you can upgrade to Android 15 with One UI 7. This update is very nice visually and I have enjoyed using it so far. The Galaxy S24+ also gets 7 years of Android and security updates which is nice for long term device support. Battery life seems fine for me and usually lasts throughout the day and maybe longer. I usually don't have to think about the battery percentage while using the phone daily. During the One UI 7 Beta there was a point where there was a little battery drain, but that has been fixed. Now One UI 7 is out and some users seem to be having battery drain while others are not, I haven't noticed much of a difference. The S24+ charges at 45W which uses "Super Fast Charging 2.0" at full charging speed and charges at 15W wirelessly. The device charges relatively fast at that speed, you can usually get a full charge in about an hour or so. Another feature I thought was cool and could be useful was that you can wirelessly charge other devices. So if you want to charge your wireless earbuds case for example you can charge them from the back of the phone. It charges other devices at 4.5W this way. With the S24+, Samsung implemented a lot of new AI features such as Circle to Search, Note Assist, Live Translate, and more. I think the usefulness of these AI features depends on your own use. These features seem to work pretty well though. If you can get this device at a good price and don't mind it not being the newest flagship phone anymore, it is still a great device that I would recommend. Though right now if you want to purchase a new S24+ or S25+, they are a similar price, so probably just get the S25+. ... show more

I love everything about this phone! I got for a great price during Amazon's summer sale. It's a solid and well made device. I also bit the bullet and switched to a new mobile service provider at the same time when I activated the phone (it was easy and I was able to keep the same cellphone number). I had no problem doing this because the phone is "unlocked". As soon as I finished setting up the phone I saw that all my contacts, apps, photos, files, etc. transferred without a single hitch from my old Samsung Galaxy S8+. The display is nice and big and the resolution and colors are very sharp and brilliant. The sound quality is truly awesome as well. I noticed right away that it was much better than my last phone when I listened to some music (I'm a professional trumpet player and I prefer listening to music genres that include Jazz, Classical, Folk and British Brass Bands). When a phone costs $1000 it better be special. I have had Samsung galaxies or my last 2 phones, and I'm sold. However a grand for a phone is too steep. So, I waited for a sale and purchased unlocked for $750. Still pricey, but it is worth it. It has a fast processor. The battery lasts 16 hours or more, at the end of the day I typically have 40% charge remaining. Iwas worried about having enough storage, without an external micro disc slot, but I've added more apps than I have ever had, and I download a number of streaming shows for offline viewing and still have plenty of space left. 12 gb RAM is also nice, I usually have 6 to 7 gb free at any given time. I went from an S8 to this. It's a good phone (fast, lovely screen, good battery life), but honestly it doesn't feel like that much of an upgrade to the S8 which was a 7 year old phone. No sd storage slot anymore so I have to pay more for storage. The camera is slow to snap, so pictures end up blurry if I don't hold perfectly still for a few seconds after taking the shot. I encounter a lot of strange little bugs with applications regularly. I know sometimes that's not Samsung's fault, but I'm underwhelmed considering the price point of this phone. It also appears the color on the sides is rubbing off, possibly caused by the case, but I'd expect something more durable. ... show more

So far so good. Delivery was quick. Upgraded from my S21+. Was able to pop my T-Mobile SIM card in with no issues. Didn't take long to set up and transfer my info and settings from my old phone. The battery will last long contingent on YOUR PERSONAL settings. If you have all the bells and whistles running at the max, then of course your battery will drain faster.
